Why should you care? Simply put because it gives you a better view of how much money you’ll have on a month to month basis. Understanding how far $100k $200k $500k $1M … Goes when you need it to last 20-30 years goes along way.

And if you find the numbers to be shocking don’t fret. You have more information now at your disposal to make better decisions. It’s not how you start but how you finish.

Many will say move to an IRA. Consider: -401k existing management fees - fees of the funds you hold - do you actually wanna change the investment? - will this disqualify you from future backdoor Roth IRA bc of pro rata rules? (Assuming traditional 401k moving to traditional IRA)

This kind of market volatility gives you a unique and rare opportunity. Think about your portfolio and write down exactly how you feel. That is your true risk tolerance. In investing, there is no knowledge more important than that.

Crazy part about the wild swings in the stock market (S&P 500) over past 2 years? With dividends reinvested, the market was +28.71 in 2021 and is πŸ”»12.42% in 2022 Averaged out, that's an 8.1% annual return 8% returns is never a linear path, it's filled with turbulence
