I have been following the uranium market for a decade. The biggest investing "error" I have seen during that time has been investors focusing on a stagnating (or falling) spot price and assuming that tells the whole story. This has also been the a recurring opportunity. 🧵

Do I know where the bottom is for U stocks? Hell no—but no one ever does. IMO, this is what opportunity looks like, so I'm buying. (Note to anyone not yet signed up: this is from Saturday's free edition of The Digest.)

☢️#SPUT: Sprott Physical #Uranium Trust Third largest discount to NAV since inception in Jul '21; a metric that tends to coincide with lows in the sector... The stocks are also historically undervalued relative to spot, presenting an asymmetric setup for contrarian speculators... xitter.cf/uraniuminsider/status/…
Brutal day following a gut-wrenching couple months for uranium equities. Let's check some historical data. The table below outlines historical forward performance across these episodes when the sector reached equivalent oversold extremes:

Great discussion and thorough broad overview for those less familiar with the uranium thesis.
China has spent decades building its dominance over the world's critical mineral supply chains. Now, that dominance has become an extraordinary geopolitical advantage. Sprott Asset Management CEO John Ciampaglia made a striking observation during our latest conversation: “But if you cut off the supply chain, you literally cripple $6 trillion of the global economy.” Rare earths represent a relatively small market in dollar terms, yet they are essential to industries worth trillions. That is the extraordinary paradox. The world is discovering that control over the smallest commodity markets can carry some of the greatest geopolitical power. Watch: youtube.com/watch?v=THyquRvn…

Need a crumb of hope about Europe on a Saturday? Belgium has gone from rapidly closing and destroying its entire nuclear fleet (half of its power before 2023) to quickly relicensing and returning a few of them to the grid. PM @Bart_DeWever is trying to save as many as he can.
België en @ENGIE_energie zijn erin geslaagd de kerncentrales Doel IV en Tihange III in een half jaar volledig te reviseren, alle veiligheidsprocedures te doorlopen en weer op te starten. Terwijl sluiting gepland was. Dat is een applausje waard, vindt u niet? #grafiekvandedag

If you are a UI member and haven’t watched the replay, I suggest you do so. Very valuable institutional insights from @JekyllCapital on market “plumbing” — correlations, flows, etc. This is key information right now. Have a good weekend 🍻

$BHP not planning to expand uranium production.
The world’s largest known #uranium deposit is owned by a company that, in practice, is completely indifferent to the current uranium price 😅 🇦🇺 $BHP chairman Ross McEwan, yesterday 👇

This is literally a very big deal... ...and, as luck would have it, uranium stocks are on sale, apparently because AI hype is notching down. Sometimes, Mr. Market hands us gifts. I'm buying.

Today was day one at Prosperity One. An amazing proposed project with lots of work ahead of us as we continue with detailed site characterization and community engagement. We are all blessed to have the opportunity to move our industry, nation, and this very special community forward. Many will continue not to believe, but we do! Prosperity is the mission. Let’s Build!

Good way to end the day. @JonathanWebbKY now live on @MTSlive from Lewis County. To my knowledge at 765 kV this is the highest voltage transmission system to ever appear on Monitoring the Situation (in the background on the mountains, can carry millions of people's worth of power)

Very big deal in nuclear: @TheNuclearCo just unveiled plans to build 6.6 gigawatts of reactors at one site in Kentucky, with plans to break ground in 2028. I talked to @TheNuclearJoe about the project and why, in an era where much of the industry is focused on newfangled reactor technologies and strategies, his company is following the model that's working so well in China.

Absolutely brilliant post. Very well said. NOTHING replaces due-diligence-based conviction. It’s necessary in volatile investments. Sell your joy and buy your pain.
"I think there is no suffering greater than what is caused by the doubts of those who want to believe."
— Flannery O'Connor Stocks routinely develop a religious following… Every investor with real conviction knows this feeling. It's not the people on the sidelines who suffer. It's the ones who are in deep, who want the thesis to be true, and still wake up at 3 a.m. questioning it. That tension isn't weakness. It's the job. Doubt the price and you'll shake out at the bottom. Ignore doubt about the thesis and you'll ride a mistake to zero. The edge is knowing which doubt you're feeling. There is zero substitute for doing one’s own due diligence and then deciding based on one’s personal financial circumstances if they should have a position in any particular investment and what that size should be. In my book, I describe the work I due to obtain true conviction as also how I manage position sizing. It’s always amazing how fast momentum changes. How much narratives and perspectives can change valuations. The most difficult thing to do is learning to sell your joy and buy your pain. Along with that, riding stocks to 10x or 20x returns is also a serious challenge. Managing greed and fear is a monumental challenge. Skepticism is healthy. I love digging deep and looking for all holes in the thesis I develop. There’s always plenty of things to consider that could go wrong. But, the goal is to find companies with enough things that look like they should go right, such that if they do the risk reward appears exceptionally good. There is absolutely no substitute for doing one’s own risk reward assessment.
