In his opening remarks, @CSBAGUGANDA ED @JuliusMukunda appreciated the participants for attending this meeting as "Social Protection is a human right"
He has encouraged that child protection financing must be anchored in clear parameters, strong oversight, and alignment with the national budget cycle to ensure effective implementation. For Uganda, delivering on commitments requires defined actions, measurable indicators, and accountable systems that track progress and impact for children and families.β
In addition, strengthened collaboration between @Parliament_Ug and Civil Society Organizations is essential to champion and sustain child-focused financing reforms.

Yesterday, in partnership with the Initiative for Social and Economic Rights @ISERUganda, we supported a successful Training of Community Advocates (CAs) in Namayingo.
We equipped CAs with skills to use our Citizen-Generated Data (CGD) collection tool to collect grassroots data and amplify citizen voices.
This initiative enhances citizen participation, informing government planning and budgeting, especially primary education financing.

Exciting News Alert! π
The Citizensβ Generated Data (CDG) Training for Training of Trainers (TOTs) has officially commenced this morning! We are delighted to have partners like the Initiative for Social and Economic Rights (ISER), Gender Research Data Hub Initiative (GERDH), Uganda Society for Disabled Children (USDC), and our dedicated Community Based Facilitators (CBFs), focal persons of the Patispartory Budget Clubs (PBCs) joining us in this important initiative.
Together, we look forward to empowering individuals and communities to harness the power of data for positive change.
CGD is an essential tool for informing government planning and policy-making. As citizens participate in data collection, they can contribute to data gaps in less visible groups and enhance their participation in decision-making processes. CGD helps ensure that the data collected reflects the actual needs and experiences of the community, making it a valuable resource for NGOs, governments, and other stakeholders.
Letβs work together towards a more inclusive and data-driven future!
