I got a life update - After an insane 9-year run at Amazon, I’ve joined @usecardboard as founding engineer to build the best agentic video editor alongside the best team. Six months ago I moved to SF looking for an early-stage team where the product is still being shaped, the problems are hard, and the people are cracked. I posted exactly that on this platform. The post blew up and it led me to Cardboard. Crazy how putting what you want out into the universe sometimes just works. Grateful to be here. Now its time to build and ship.

We can now take a reference video, understand its taste, and edit your footage like that (in beta).
Saksham
@sxmawlJul 30
Everyone knows what they want in a video but they can’t describe it. They send a reference and say: “Make it feel like this.” So we gave Cardboard the ability to understand taste through references. Attach a video or image, and it understands the style, pacing, cuts, colors, fonts, and basically everything. Instead of trying to describe what you want, you can now show it. Try: cardboard (dot) ai

Made with Cardboard: Episode 3 ft. Italy 🇮🇹 We gave Cardboard clips from a hiking trip through the Dolomites and asked it to make a cinematic travel reel. This is what we got :D

Cardboard has now watched over 103,000 clips 🚀 People are uploading everything they have, not just a carefully sorted selection of clips. Cardboard watches the footage, makes sense of it, and pulls out the best parts. 103k+ clips so far. On to the next ones.

Dumped raw clips from Japan into Cardboard and asked for a quick Instagram edit. Got this in under 2 minutes :) Turn your travel clips into something you can actually post. Try: cardboard(dot)ai

Introducing Smart Reframe in Cardboard One video → horizontal, vertical, square Cardboard finds the subject, keeps them in frame, and gives you the format you asked for. No crop box. No keyframes. Only 1-prompt. Try it on: cardboard (dot) ai

I added an automation that takes my calendar events and turn them into system alarms. coz for time sensitive stuff, alarm is the only thing that really works with the right label as it will keep irritating you until you ack. now I just use siri to add new calendar events. I literally never forget any important event or meeting. works for future events too even if you do not add them yourself. a friend showed me this setup and it's been a game changer for my adhd brain, happy to share if anyone else needs :) video edited by @usecardboard

Unnaceptable from @interaction , I remembered by myself anyway. Anyone suggest a different iMessage Agent that doesn't act like a naive intern?

We introduce Reframe ✨ You can ask Cardboard to switch any clip between 16:9, 9:16, and 1:1 It tracks the subject to make sure it stays in the frame. Great for cutting a long video into Reels or Shorts.

When Ishan told me he was leaving HackerRank, it was a gut punch. But when he said he's starting his own company, it quickly turned into a feeling of pride. Ishan is someone who truly, madly, deeply cares about what he's building and I'm sure @usecardboard, the agentic video editor is going to be the future of editing. And yes, they are part of the latest @ycombinator batch. Edit your user's videos, not your dreams! Make it big.

One of our users just loaded 260 videos (180GB+ combined) into a single @usecardboard project. For context, I’d never tested beyond ~10–20GB. We've been grinding on memory & performance optimizations the last few days, and apparently they quietly paid off. Handled it without breaking a sweat. Best stress test I never planned for : )
