The important context here is that this guy was purged by Abbott for voting with democrats on opposing school vouchers. His inclusion is a nod to that issue, which is getting missed a lot by national commentators that haven’t followed Texas politics for a while.

2nd she has always said her focus will be the educational system and that’s what she ran on. even in her speech after winning she vowed to that. i will hold her accountable for that and policies fall under that because that is what she ran on and that is what i voted for

they’re the first democrats to win statewide in a million years, they’re in a precarious position. i’d rather them moderate and earn the goodwill of all texans to continue to get reelected, than to acquiesce to some and lose all the progress we just made. sorry (not sorry)
