Of the over 1,300 marriages of the aristocracy that the duc de Saint-Simon witnessed during his time at the court of Louis XIV, nearly 30% involved hypergamy. He also wrote that upward mobility was almost an entirely female phenomenon during this time.

By contrast, hypogamy, when it occurred, almost always happened when a daughter from the noblesse de robe (newer, administrative nobility) married into the family of prestigious, but lower-ranked noblesse d'épée (medieval military nobility)

I like how she filmed so far away from the busker so she wouldn’t have to leave him any money, but she doesn’t realise nobody would’ve expected her to, given the fact she looks like the average cigan.
Serbia has ZERO doctors & engineers like the ones in Italy & France. Support @avucic to keep Serbia Christian & Conservative.

America has unleashed a band of busted CPAC whores upon the world, whose sole purpose is to sound the death knell of various regimes and denigrate the countries they visit, turning them into little more than caricatures. Getting nuked would be more dignified than this.
We love and enjoy bacon here. Serbia stays Christian, pure and free. Normality feels cool. No child marriages. 🇷🇸

New Amphora post. Rundown of the 2027 budget, French pension system, the burden of the debt embedded within the ministries. Why everything seems so understaffed and yet so highly funded. Why the student protest started. And my word on why France will make it. Link in reply.

Like I said yesterday, the current riots in Albania have nothing to do with the Flamingo Trantifa ones that went on for 150 days with no effect. Leftists on here have no understanding of this when they liken them to what’s happening in France. They can try to co-opt them, but it won't end well.
Leftists remain totally gullible in comprehending the rabble. That is why they always get swallowed up by it. Both the Govt & students in Albania accuse the other of being in cahoots with Serbia. That is also the dynamic in Serbia. There is no “solidarity”.

One of the biggest underlying issues for the protestors is that they feel like they are being replaced, forced out of their country to seek opportunities elsewhere by an oligarchic government that would rather import cheap labour from abroad than pay a fair wage. What the left stands for today in Europe is completely antithetical to this and completely removed from material concerns. Instead of capitalising on this sentiment, the Right does stuff like telling young people to work harder, completely idiotic.

In the riots, immigrant criminals commit immigrant crime, leftists play-act '68, and conservatives get to post the Kenneth Clark clip. Everyone gets what they want, which is to do exactly what they were doing already in an Epic register, and an enormous amout of Fun is had by all
If Kenneth Clark were alive and filming in Paris today he would struggle to see the city as a cradle of Western civilisation. More a place inimical to learning, hostile to the freedoms earned by women and gays, and moving ever further away from the values of the Enlightenment.

Imagine the Balkans overthrowing foreign capital led by corrupt US elites while overcoming nationalisms from the Albanian and Serbian side. We are seeing a glimpse of this just now and it is insane. This would have been unimaginable three years ago.

Trying to use class struggle framing to understand politics in the modern age is about as useful as giving a hedgehog a waterbed, are you stupid? One of the few things the Right gets right is its understanding of fundamental human desires and human nature, even if it consistently misjudges how best to satisfy them.
