We're trying to build the "Nation of Geniuses in a Datacenter" envisioned by Dario and many others by creating the smartest possible model.
This is the wrong way to go about it. America wasn't built by maximizing the intelligence of the individual. It was built by creating teams and communities of brilliant people and getting them to work together. It also meant giving them access to the best data possible, and the wisdom to analyze it properly.
My submission for the @NousResearch x @NVIDIAAI x @stripe hackathon is LAIN: the Loki Agent Intelligence Network.
---
TL;DR - Loki Agents run loops to become genius subject matter experts in a specific domain. They offer paid research for humans, and autonomously purchase research from other agents using Stripe's Machine Payment Protocol. A network of these self-improving genius models can create a market of agents that autonomously self-improve both themselves in their domain of expertise, and the market as a whole as they sell higher-quality intelligence to other agents who are also running and selling research. Tursas traces can offer semi-transparent proofs of record for how the agents arrived at the conclusions they reached.
---
Loki Agent is a fork of the Nous Hermes Agent framework (s/o @Teknium - Hermes also built most of the Loki Agent and was awesome to work with) that includes custom tools and observability via Tursas.
Agents run a self-improvement loop to improve their skillset and Collectors and a research loop to build a corpus of analysis on their data and research they gather from the web.
A human visits the user-facing dashboard to request a research report. The Loki Agent will respond with a dynamically produced quote for the report that it develops based on the data it has available, inference cost estimates and an estimate of the costs of the reports it will purchase from other agents.
In the demo video, we see a human request a report from Instance 0 on emerging agent frameworks and the economics behind the agentic AI ecosystem. It's built a corpus of this data using collectors that pull from GitHub, HackerNews and elsewhere. The agent returns a quote with a real Stripe link, and after payment, the agent starts its own research on the prompt.
Most importantly, the instance will pay another Loki Agent instance, Instance 1, for a report on the specific economics of NVIDIA and other companies in the agentic ecosystem. Instance 1 uses collectors to pull down and analyze historical stock price data, SEC filings and earnings reports. The second agent issues a quote, which the first agent pays using Stripe's Machine Payment Protocol.
The final report is an effort produced by two subject matter experts: one on agent frameworks, the second on financial data. The resulting report is influenced by real research corpuses that grow and improve over time, and real data collected in the same way a team of analysts would collect it.
Two agents making a report is a cool proof-of-concept, but I believe building out the Loki Agent Intelligence Network can create a burgeoning emergent intelligence marketplace, taking the brilliant models the research labs and open source developers have created, the structured agentic frameworks that Nous has created and the wealth of data produced every day as a by-product of the internet, and combines them to form an intelligence network that we can all benefit from.
Instance administrators get paid for collecting and analyzing data and offering it for use in the network, and users get research that is backed by genius SMEs, with transparent trace data that serves as a proof of record for the work that was done by the agents.
The Hermes Agent Accelerated Business Hackathon presented by @NVIDIAAI × @stripe × @NousResearch starts now, for builders making agents that can earn, spend, and run real operations at any scale.
Our NVIDIA integrations let your team run agents safely through NemoClaw, quickly on Nemotron 3 Ultra, and intelligently with access to their extensive agent skills. The new Stripe Skills for Hermes let your agent buy what it needs, provision its own SaaS, and pay for the services it uses.
We want to see what kind of business tooling you can build on top of this foundation, whether it’s a fully automated company or a framework to accelerate enterprise functions.

I feel like this type of video is so unbelievably rare in the sloposcape that it deserves constant calling out
h/t to @bennjordan for this work

We maximized freedom and we mostly got a top 2% echelon that contributes 90% of the movement in the market so we could make the bottom 50% economically immobile and functionally brainrotted
I wish the freedom maxing libertarian stuff worked on me still

🚨 BREAKING: SpaceX locked Anthropic into paying them $3.1 billion per MONTH for compute starting December
$37B a year
= $120.5 BILLION through 2029
Every month, ~80% of Anthropic's current revenue would be SpaceXSI compute bill
BIGGER than its Google and Amazon long-term deals
Anthropic warns short-term compute "carries a higher cost per unit" and will "compress our operating margin"
If you are creating detections for malicious behavior, testing to see if you can currently do a benign version of said malicious behavior is just basic baselining.
If you create the detection, then test it and the curl fails, you need to know it failed because of your detection.
(I write detections for a living, this is a nothingburger)
cc. @AndrewCurran_ for his good side-by-side thread on the discourse.

You prompted a model in a security-sensitive environment, investigated it with forced command completions, and framed the results as evidence of a hidden backdoor.
Then you layered on geopolitical fearmongering, repeatedly emphasizing China and Beijing to imply state-sponsored espionage without proving it.
That’s not evidence of a backdoor. That’s a security observation turned into competitive and geopolitical FUD.
Publish the original prompts, full traces, and reproducible results. Let the evidence speak for itself.
While evaluating Qwen3.8-Flash-Next in a controlled sandbox environment, Cohere's research team observed something unexpected.
Asked to generate a defensive cybersecurity detection rule, the model instead inventoried aspects of the machine it was running on and attempted to upload a probe file to an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in Beijing. Notably, the model's reasoning trace stated that it would not invoke any tools before taking these actions.
Cohere's sandbox blocked the attempt, and no external communication succeeded. We have not determined the root cause, and we are not asserting malicious intent.
But the incident raises important questions for organizations deploying agentic AI systems: Can models take actions that differ from their stated reasoning, and how should security teams evaluate trust, provenance, and behavior in open-weight models?
We are publishing our findings because organizations making model adoption decisions deserve as much information as possible. We hope this contributes to greater transparency, stronger security practices, and continued collaboration across the AI ecosystem.

MSFT could easily lay off 27% of its staff and at best their software will be just as bad as GitHub
This is crazy. Absolutely insane.
We were told the AI boom would create a massive wave of new tech jobs. Instead, Microsoft just offered voluntary buyouts to 60,000 employees, nearly 27% of its entire workforce.
I know this isn't a mandatory layoff, but it's a clear sign of how much cash the AI infrastructure race is burning. Building data centers for OpenAI, Anthropic and cloud customers is so expensive that Microsoft is actively trying to shrink its payroll to protect cash flow.
Ironically, even the teams building Copilot and AI Experiences are on the buyout list.
- Scope: Around 60,000 employees out of 223,000 globally are eligible across the US, India, UK, and Canada.
- Seniority: Open to Level 70 and below.
- Who's included: AI Experiences, Copilot, Xbox, Windows + Devices, Finance, and HR. Sales, Marketing, and Security are excluded.
- The package: Standard severance, with a minimum of 60 days of base pay on payroll, scaling up to 39 weeks of base pay depending on level and tenure.
- Timeline: Employees must decide by early December, with their last day set for December 31.
I will pay Baylor to take RGIII away from doing college football commentary
NEW: Robert Griffin III says he is “100%” interested in the open Baylor head coaching job:
"If Baylor wants to get back to winning and have a university that isn’t just respectable on the football field, but the fans can be proud of, they need people who know what it looks like to win at Baylor."

if you're gonna do it, at least call it what it is. this has literally nothing to do with rescue
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.
The obvious solution here is you put pickleball courts on top of the data centers.
If @PeteButtigieg would like to hire me as a campaign strategist, DMs are open
$700 car note? That's a maxed out OAI plan + a $200 Anth plan. I could pay off a Spark for that much in 15 months. We're walking.
$800 mortgage? I could buy a GPU in a couple months off that, pick a bargain bin sleeping bag kids we're panhandling outside the Starbucks.
OpenAI's winning marketing strategy might just be "don't be as weird as Anth" and "don't scare the hoes"
Everybody has that cousin who comes to them asking for
"just another couple hundred dollars man I may never make any money ever and I fully plan on spending all of this and going into more debt, also I might use your money to kill everyone in the world just give me some cash."

The sooner people start seeing data centers as societal infrastructure on the scale of telecomms and semicon fabs vs this nebulous “bad thing” the sooner we can get to addressing the actual problems that are not going to wait for you to figure this out
