I think it comes to a point, if a developer of an almost 20 yr old game gives the player base, the source code to continue creating more content for the game, you should not complain about no updates. The players are the ones in control if they want updates or not.

Word of the wise for anyone in esports.
Never publicly defame people that are your co workers in this industry. It’s ok to not agree with how they conduct their work or that their style isn’t fit for your particular taste. But keep it to yourself and instead re examine the reasons as to why they are in a position that you are not. Rather than tearing them down in an effort to build you and your peers up it is more advisable to work towards improving your own craft through your work, network, and content. Resentment and ego will get you nowhere.
