I hate to be this cynical, but I’ll be honest…running for Mayor exposes you to things that make you believe the city is actually being overtaken by demonic energy. Drive south Fig at night. Go to 6th and San Pedro. You see children openly prostituting, drug zombies setting dogs and cats on fire, babies born to crackheads and tossed in a dumpster, dead people just lying in the streets…that’s not even to mention the dozen neighbors of ours who burned alive in what is now a crumbled hellscape. Many times I wondered if the city’s problems weren’t beyond the reach of any politician’s capacity to actually fix. There is a cultural and spiritual rot that can’t be fixed at the ballot box. Until we fix the culture, we are kinda just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic and the shit we shovel around every 4 years doesn’t really mean a thing.
I am not kidding about the demons in LA btw. My best friend works at McDonald’s and some dude tried getting her to be his sugar baby while she was handing him his order in the drive thru. My other friend was on a film set and one of the actors tried getting him to be in her p0rno outta nowhere while he was helping her down a hill. And I was acting in a film where I learned one of the stuntmen was invited to this house and they were trying to get him into a cult while doing a bunch of demonic rituals. Bunch of unclothed men in bed. No clothes at all. He immediately left. Not to mention I’ve been followed and attacked by drug addicts. I know people who were almost killed. DONT COME TO LA. DONT DO IT.

If you had a decent sense of intuition you could tell from the very beginning that when it comes to writing LLMs always did and always will produce slop. It’s an excellent dictionary and thesaurus however.
I use AI everyday. It is my most used tool. At least 4-6 hours a day. It is the most useful tool in existence today. It has allowed to automate or streamline things into minutes that used to take me hours or weren’t even possible at all. I have a dozen skills that help with with things from IT troubleshooting to automated budget categorizing. I have also spent at least 100 hours trying to build a skill to have it help me write good essays. it is over 100 pages long, including a 40,000 word/90 page corpus of summaries of my existing work AND why they matter, as well as 5000 words across 10 individual pages of instructions that cover writing style, reasoning methods, editorial rules, writing process, audience characteristics, and rhetorical style, with updates being made every day. And yet the skill is basically useless to th the point that I can tell you with basically 100% certainty that AGI or frankly original thinking of any kind will NEVER come from next token prediction LLMs. The issue is the way they “think” at a fundamental level. Again, they are extremely useful and will displace or augment the economic value of the vast majority of people. But at the end of the day they will remain NPCs due to their fundamental nature and AGI/ASI will require a totally novel architecture.

Bizarre subtype of Christian that convinces itself that supporting the world becoming more depraved and violent and degenerate and LESS Christian… is somehow the most Christian thing to do. Truly of one the devils most despicable tricks.

Your greatest humiliation will lay the groundwork for your greatest victory. Once you’ve died to the world there is nothing left to do but to live.
Getting cancelled was initially the worse thing that had ever happened to me. My best friend of 6 years betrayed me, I lost one of the best jobs I had ever worked, and I didn’t know what prospects my life had going forward. But soon after, I didn’t realize that for the first time in my life, I would feel truly alive. It turns out that I would start the path to becoming more fit than I had ever been, I would be blessed with new friends that would quickly become my brothers, I started the path to walking with God again, and I went on adventures with people and places I never thought I’d see before. I don’t know what you may be going through right now or what you may be dealing with, but I can tell you that it always gets better. Lean on God, He will take you on adventures you never thought possible and make you feel like you are really, truly living for the first time in your entire life. If He could do so much in the life of a big kid from Colorado like me, He can work wonders in your life too.

I told you. I told you all. I told you over two years ago. I told you over two years ago that Vivek Ramaswamy isn't an American and never will be. And what did you say? OMG you just don't like him because he's brown you horrible basement dwelling racist. That's what you said. So I waited. I'm not stupid. I know better than to be right too early. Now I'm going to repeat myself. Vivek Ramaswamy is not American. Everything he says or thinks about America, he must mentally translate into the closest equivalent concept from his own culture, rather than understanding it in its own right. When he says that the founding fathers "sacrificed their honor", he reveals that he does not understand what Americans mean by honor. He is instead translating it to the third world concept of "face" or "izzat", which is not what we would call honor at all, but social standing or reputation with the existing power structure. Similarly, when he thinks that Amy Acton is somehow compromised by having been raped at the age of 12 by an adult charged with her care. Under third world values, this is a loss of "face" for her. Under American values, it's considered dishonorable to rape kids. But the largest and most obvious clue, the one that should have dialed you all in, came earlier. Came two years ago. You know the one. The issue isn't that he called Americans lazy and mediocre. That's just third-world woofing, and we can absorb a simple insult. The third world insults us constantly now that we are selling them smartphones and internet access. Around here, we call that "Tuesday". No, the significant point here is that he revealed his complete lack of understanding of how Americans innovate and succeed. Being dragged into cram school by a tiger mom every summer, to drill trigonometry problems, may be how the Chinese and Indians personally succeed in their societies, by passing examinations and winning secure niches in their society's top institutions gaining much face thereby. But this is not how Americans succeed, and it is not what propelled America to the pinnacle of civilization, technology and wealth. We succeed by how we cultivate, motivate, and allocate talent. This is something you can't explain to third-worlders, no matter how many times you repeat yourself. If they could understand it, they would not be third-worlders, because their countries would long ago have turned into first world countries. They just think we are saying that we are so talented that we don't need to work hard. That we are so much smarter than they are that we can watch Saved By The Bell and have sleepovers and go to prom while they are drilling math problems. This might actually be true. Our average IQ is about 20 points higher, give or take. But that's not what's really going on here. What's going on here is that Americans do work hard... but not in the context of an institutional pipeline set up by the state. Americans work hard by playing. When two American kids invent heavier-than-air flight, they don't do it by going to drill trigonometry problems and sitting for the state college exams. They just play around with kites, and bicycles, and bicycle kites, without asking anyone's permission or blessing first. And they keep obsessively tinkering until something works. They are working hard. But they are not working hard because someone is standing over them with a whip. They are working hard because they are obsessed with bicycle kites. Americans greatness comes from three guys in a shed. We innovate by fooling around. Is every American like this? This talented? This obsessed? Of course not. But the secret sauce has another ingredient, and that is respect for results, not for credentials or riches or titles or izzat. If some American shows up wearing stained overalls, with straw sticking in his hair, and says that his name is Jimmy Ray Hatfield, and he reckons he just mighta dun figgered out this fusion containment thing, ya'll, then Americans don't throw sticks at him. We say... show me. Guys like Vivek don't get that. They don't understand that in America, credentials and job titles are just something you pick up along the way to learning to actually make something, and it is the making of something, not the titles, that we consider to be success. Vivek in office would be a disaster for Ohio, not only because he is a grifting scumbag, but because one cannot foster American greatness if one does not understand what makes America great. The greatness of America is in its people. If the republican party does not realize that, then it must be replaced by a party that does, because the goal is not for republicans to win, the goal is for America to win. And TransAmericans are not Americans.

Every business is the hospitality business. Filled with people who want to make as much money as possible with as little effort as possible.
You're in the hospitality business, not the paying-off-my-mortgage-without-consequences-or-inconvenience business.

This deserted street is at the center of Boston University, which is supposed to have about 40 thousand students. Most are nowhere to be found. The students you do see all look completely miserable. Everyone is foreign- not just in origin but in the world they inhabit. Virtually, she is far away- China, Valhalla, the moon, It wouldn’t matter. it’s not the phone that transports her, it’s her head that’s in the clouds. And she is all of us. Decades ago, this part of campus had the best parties. Now, unfriendly strivers in fantasy worlds. A Tower of Babel, and the split is more than superficially linguistic

a lot it is said of childless women, but not enough is said of childless men in their 40s and 50s
People think I’m crazy… Not just for chugging honey daily, but for how I travel in general. Idk if you’ve seen the reactions to me bringing coconuts through security.. 😅 But let me say this… When you’re on the go without preparation, this is where it’s most likely for us to get tripped up. You’re hungry and your only options are airport McDonald’s, Starbucks, or seed oil soaked bar food… BRUTAL. For me, I’m just not taking that risk. Why? My health is my #1 priority. Feeling great is my #1 priority. Mental clarity is my #1 priority Sleeping well is my #1 priority. I love the work I do. I love helping people heal themselves through diet. I love educating about how to live optimally. For that, I need to be sharp every single day, no excuses. I love surfing, being in nature, moving my body, and having endless energy. I love feeling my absolute best. Adequately fueling my body to continue doing these things. It’s a non-negotiable. I will never sacrifice how I perform and feel for a quick treat. I mean it when I say I haven’t had a cookie or slice of pizza in over 10 years. Let me be clear… I do understand I am on the extreme end here 😂 but I think knowledge is power, and so many people are suffering today with chronic illness, obesity, diabetes, bloating, fatigue, low energy, brain fog and bad sleep. Being INTENTIONAL about your diet is, in my opinion, the SINGLE most powerful lever you can pull to reverse all of these things. So call me crazy all you want, but I’ll take crazy for daily mental clarity, focus, energy, and a life lived to the fullest. Eat like a human. This is how you thrive.

Elizabeth Holmes is guilty of her fraud becoming legally fraud due to not continuing long enough— in the world of venture capital, the whole point is saying stuff like “we can make self-driving cars” & the proviso being “granted that we can continue to raise funds toward that end.” That whole world is about utilizing fraud (fictitious capital) toward scaling a speculative fiction to the degree that it “becomes real.” She’s not in some subjective sense lying, as she believes “in the idea” of that possibility being brought into reality through herself (this is the sense of herself she imposes upon herself after being raped as a freshman in college). She devotes her whole life to this idea & this is her sense of self— so what’s interesting about the film is that she does not lie, but she does lie (silently) to herself about the people around her that she has chosen to offload “pragmatic concerns” to— that enables her to be “clean” of these things, but “it’s not about the money”, moreso it’s about maintaining this absolute faith in the concept she has of her destiny in life etc. Most cult leaders believe in the fraud they commit— to preach the messianic age is to say “this will be true for everyone someday.” The problem with these types is that they enable their shields to get away with anything. She holds loyalty to the cause above her own concerns. It’s a very tragic situation— as she’s also almost definitely on the spectrum to some degree— so her whole adult life is this performance, to herself, of being self-composed & devoted to her quasi messianic mission of saving the world etc. If this belief collapses, her entire psyche would shatter into a million pieces. She is both the femme fatale & the dead girl in one person— this is what makes it such a compelling film noir. It’s beautiful that she will never give up on her quest, her faith, her belief etc— if she truly believed herself to be a fraud, she’d have taken a plea deal.
