VirtualDesktop's Quest3 USB streaming is the biggest upgrade yet. 2x my wifi6 bandwidth up to 500mbps w/ H264+ resulting in reduced compression while maintaining low latency. I test codecs/bitrates in SteamVR and UEVR games, linked below. @VRDesktop @AmvrOfficial #VR #metaquest

First test of @Flat2VR Elliott Tate's new OpenXR OBS mirror. Super wide FOV capture, highly adjustable with very little overhead, I've been waiting forever for this. Far better than LIV and Meta hub casting. #vr

Thanks to modder Andyalpa, we just got new versions of VR mods for the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes 🤩 Now they have (similar to the Talemann's Resident Evil 9 mod) manual weapon reloading and interactions with them (like pumping a shotgun), physical weapon holsters, a manually drawn flashlight and added gun recoil. These mods are now like native VR games 🤯

Cosmic horror bullet-hell @LunaAbyssGame may be the most immersive experience I've ever had in VR. An immensely beautiful world of dystopian industrial megastructures of monumental proportions. Review w/ 4090 capture: youtu.be/zdsP5MX-VhA #vr #virtualreality #uevr @Flat2VR

They should never have changed the name to Meta from Oculus. They should never of walked away from PCVR. They destroyed something epic getting rid of Oculus Home. They killed Ready at Dawn. The Metaverse is now a meme. Their conclusions are flawed and now I’m sitting back waiting to see what will be the next knee jerk reaction they get into. They might even fully walk away. Same with Sony and PSVR2. Great product but overpriced at launch and they couldn’t be arsed to play their strongest hand and that’s bringing more of their own IPs to their own headset. People think vr has failed when I would argue it’s the radical decision makers and half arsed attempts who failed vr. Valve releasing Steam Frame has put some wind back in my sails for virtual realities future, but they too might not go all in. They could invest in software or help vr developers make great games (maybe they are🤷‍♂️) but there’s also the chance they will drop expensive hardware and sit back to see what happens and that might not move the needle enough. I’m optimistic for its future because I believe virtual reality is the most immersive technology for entertainment. Maybe we are too early but when you look at the list of speed bumps we weren’t JUST early, there’s been a lot of very expensive mistakes along the way and we’ve lost a lot of good people too. I have no idea what the future holds but I’m here till it’s end.
There was a time when Meta was funding big VR games like Batman Arkham VR and Deadpool VR as 'system sellers'. But Meta has concluded that that polished single-player VR games don't have the pull they once did. So what's the new 'system seller' then that Meta could invest in to draw crowds?
