I wish I could be a student in @jomalleyiv’s classroom because I’d never forget anything! Thanks for sharing all your retrieval practice advice at #ICTM2022!

Thanks @Math_Grinder for sharing your experiences of teaching with a thinking classroom at #ICTM2022! I appreciated the insider tips. “If it’s important to you, show it.” Can’t wait to use your flow-released template in my classes!

It was so fun to talk with a room full of teachers that want to learn about warm ups that I’ve been using for so long. Thanks @AdamPoetzel for the shout out this morning. It’s going to be an awesome day at #ICTM2022!

Does anyone have a 403b with and like their provider? My district now matches contributions so I would like to start one and I can use pretty much any company, but I’ve also heard a lot of bad things. Any thoughts would be helpful!

Does anyone know of a way to open a .flipchart file in SMART notebook? The solutions I'm finding must be for older/non-Mac versions of the programs. #mtbos

I got to do a stations activity with the math teacher next door where we opened both rooms and Ss got to go between classes. If you and a neighbor teach the same class in the same period I highly recommend. It was so fun!

This is the first year I didn’t overdress for my first day. I wear a polo/blouse and work pants almost every day with my math TOMS. Why should the first day be any different? Felt great to feel like me on day 1.

Really need to find a way to make the garden’s craziest harvesting time to not coincide with the start of school. Or maybe just need to plant fewer things.

I tried to transfer my cool math stickers to my new laptop and it didn’t work and now I’m sad because I have a distinct lack of cool math stickers on my laptop. Another reason I’m looking forward to in-person conferences this year!

Illinois math teachers who want a great department in a smaller suburban/almost rural school southwest of Chicago - apply to work at Yorkville High School! Looking to hire ASAP! #iteachmath #mtbos applitrack.com/ROE24/onlinea…

I still have my blue band shirt from marching in this parade in that exact spot as a student and alumni for many years. I’m lucky that everyone I know is safe. This is horrifying. Shooter is still at large after 3 hours.

I got to experience this at my last school on accident (school kept changing my classes each year and ended up always going a grade up). Had a handful of Ss for 3 years in a row and many for 2 in a row. Best classes of my career. I’d always brag that I was hogging the best Ss.

It was abstract linear algebra for me. Oof.

My FB ads are now just for reminding me how hard it’ll be to buy a home in the Chicago suburbs now on 2 Ts’ salaries. For reference, I took a $10k pay cut to move from the Quad Cities to burbs and pay over double in rent now. Husband got a $1k raise. 😖

I’ve never worn Crocs, but a student sent me this and it’s very very tempting. She says she is going to visit me on Pi Day next year and expects to see me in these. 😄 frizian.com/products/school-…
