Visited the Tethar Grid Station In Banihal to review the progress of work on the installation of an additional 20 MVA transformer, sanctioned at an estimated cost of ₹7 crore to strengthen the power infrastructure in the Banihal area. The foundation and base work for the transformer is currently underway. During my visit, I assessed the progress and held discussions with the engineers and contractors, stressing the need to expedite the work and make the transformer operational before the onset of the harsh winter and snowfall season. The installation of this additional transformer is expected to improve the reliability of electricity supply, reduce power-related difficulties and strengthen the power system, particularly during the demanding winter months.
