There isn't much competition, since Netflix rarely releases anything that stays with you for more than an hour. But How to Get to Heaven from Belfast is one show I watched this year that I often think about.
"If a person's national identity can be so profoundly altered by the loss of memory, how much of that identity was ever truly their own?"
On #UdtaTeer, patriotism, society, #ShahRukhKhan, blind devotion—everything at once:

In Karthik Subbaraj's #Dorothy, everyone is a symbol. A film that takes audacious swings at toxic masculinity and patriarchy, yet sometimes reduces its characters to the very ideas it wants us to embrace.

US critics are about to go through what Indian critics went through after reviewing Dhurandhar.
The most interesting thing about #UdtaTeer is that it dares to ask, "What if patriotism is just another inherited identity we never question?" Sadly, it loses its nerve to pursue that question.

If self-sabotage were a competitive sport, #UdtaTeer would be a serious contender for the gold medal. A juicy premise, a gifted comic cast, and considerable political potential—all squandered.

#FadingGrandeur/#GrandeDeEspana could have been a good farce about the absurdity of aristocracy, but #Netflix's series is too timid to be truly funny and too shallow to be moving.

#NobodyWantsThis Season 3 has a title that becomes increasingly accurate the longer you watch it. Convenient resolutions, underwritten storylines, wasted talent, and rom-com clichés we've seen a hundred times before. The actors deserved better.

#TheMothersOfPenguins/#MatkiPingwinów Season 2 gets the chaos, guilt, and emotional toll of raising children with special needs right. But repetitive themes and undercooked storylines leave it dramatically flat.

I started #TheTerminalList Season 2 as a young critic. Eight episodes later, my joints hurt, my hair had turned gray, and my grandkids wanted pizza for dinner. The Terminal Disease would've been a better title.

#CyberpunkEdgerunners2 is #Netflix slop in neon colors. Garish visuals, thin characters, and tinsel tears can't hide a story with nothing to say about cinema, art, or its own protagonist. Just play Cyberpunk 2077 instead.
