You want to lecture people about social justice and LGBTQ+ rights, but have you even bothered to understand the whole spectrum of identities within the community you are talking about ? Using LGBT while claiming to speak for LGBTQ+ people erases the very inclusivity you are supposedly advocating for. Using the right words alone does not make you an ally even, especially when your awareness seems more about seeking validation from the community than genuinely understanding its issues. Coming to the movie, I genuinely do not understand what was so problematic about its portrayal of misogyny that you found it so traumatic. The film exposes how patriarchy and caste operate in our society. Portraying misogyny is not the same as celebrating or justifying it. The entire point is to show how deeply rooted caste discrimination and misogyny are in our society. You said, "இத பத்தி யாருமே பேசல" and described the film as full of misogynistic content. Yet, when someone explained that the film was exposing the very same misogyny you were criticising, your response was, "I am saying the same." Then what exactly were you criticising in your original post ? You also called it a "double edged sword". What exactly does that mean in this context ? Which side of the film's message do you think is problematic ? I know you will bring up Karthi's RT SS for your validation, but that is neither validation nor proof of what you said in your original tweet. You can change your stance when people question you, but that does not change what you originally posted or make it correct. Criticising a film is perfectly valid. But if your interpretation changes after someone explains the very message you claim to support, it is fair to question whether you understood the film in the first place. Supporting a community is not about displaying the right labels or making emotional statements. It requires actually understanding the issues you are talking about. Performative awareness is not the same as genuine understanding. Neither is performative allyship the same as being an ally.
