This hits close to my heart. I was like that, too, before working as a developer. But trust me, everyone can become a developer. However, that doesn’t mean we’ll all be at the same level and work at NASA and FAANG companies. Some of us will build landing pages, some will build algorithms, some will build email templates, some will build operating systems, and so on. There’s a place for everyone. One mention though: software development is very difficult. It’s not as easy as some people make it sound. So don’t feel bad if you don’t understand stuff easily. And when it comes to rejections, everyone gets rejected in their career. No matter how many years of experience they have. If you enjoy what you’re doing, keep pushing. You’ll make it.

Very common question on Android / Kotlin interview is... What's the difference between lateinit var and by lazy{}. Here's how you can answer 👇

Law of Demeter (principle of least knowledge) An object should only interact with its immediate neighbors and avoid knowledge of the internal structure of other objects to promote loose coupling and modularity in software design

#ChatGPT - Smartest AI so far. It makes me feel like I'm talking to someone. #BingChat - AI that summarizes the search result and often forgets my previous conversation. #GoogleBard - Dumbest AI so far and often give me the wrong info. What are your thoughts?

#AndroidDev Do you use this Live Edit experimental feature for #JetpackCompose?

FYI - Quite useful, highly recommended for beginner. I have also written a similar but more simplified article on it if you're interested. vtsen.hashnode.dev/android-v…

#ChatGPT Tip: It is good practice to ask "Are you sure?" for any given answers by ChatGPT. I noticed it always gives me the wrong answer the first time. It does sound like it is done on purpose?

Here is the prompt to bypass ChatGPT in case anyone wants to try it out. Have fun!

IMO, the sum equation should be rewritten as val sum = x?:(0 + y) to avoid the confusion. Then, you should get the answer right.
What is the output of the following code? a) 3 b) 5 c) 2 d) 0 By @antonkeks in KotlinConf 2018!

You can confirm with `===` reference equality check.
Did do know that every empty list created with listOf or emptyList in Kotlin is actually the same object? This is the power of covariance and Nothing type.

FYI - Enum can have functions but don't know what's the actual use case. More info: kotlinlang.org/docs/enum-cla…
Replying to @wiseAss301 @kotlin
Also needed for enums that have functions: enum class X { A, B, C; fun doSomething() {} }

Inspiring Android development journey. Thanks for sharing.
I started in ~ Jun-July 2020, but I got serious in 2021. Took the Udacity course for Android dev, and realized I barely knew anything about Kotlin (I just knew a bit of Python from long ago). So I took a full Kotlin course on JetBrains academy ... 1/? #AndroidDev

Just learned "nested functions" which smaller scope than the "private functions".
What's your opinion about nested functions in Kotlin? For a while I was against that, but recently I started seeing value in it. Why extend the scope of something if that's not needed?
