Really pleased to launch the new @BasicsEssex car this evening. So immensely grateful for the generosity of @BASICS_HQ via @HelipadHELP and @vinehilltrust who have allowed us to purchase the car and continue to save lives across #Essex

To mark its centenary, we’re restoring the K2 phone box on the Albert Bridge, having acquired it from BT. The K2 arose from a competition run by the Royal Fine Art Commission and won by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott (who also designed Battersea Power Station, visible in the distance).

Bizarre choice to remove the nib wall marking the east end of Christchurch Newgate St. It’s visible in the left hand picture. The east wall survived the War but not the planners, and this low wall represents a kind of expiation of the wrong done in demolishing it. Keep it please.

Our newly-restored K2 telephone kiosk looking fine in the summer sun. The Royal Fine Art Commission ran the 1924 competition that led to Sir Giles Gilbert Scott’s design. This year marks the centenary of its installation.

Nice stonework restoration work at St Barnabas Clapham Common by Paye, following demolition by a car. Presumably covered by insurance, but that’s no guarantee the right people will be brought in to reinstate what was lost.

We’ve recently taken on this beaten up 1920s K2 phone box and are restoring it (using materials from Unicorn of Merstham) so that it goes back to being an adornment to the streetscape. Our Chairman Stephen Bayley was on site today keeping an eye on restoration works.

We’ve recently given a grant to support the restoration of C19 stained glass (unusually depicting flora) at the lovely little church of St Mary Wreay in Cumberland. We’re always interested in helping restoration projects that make use of heritage craft skills #stainedglasssunday
Pleased to meet the @payestonework project team @leedscastleuk today to review the excellent progress made on stonework restoration on the New Castle, to which we made a funding contribution. The Kentish ragstone appears grey when quarried but weathers to a sandy brown.
