Lightpool Festival has been cancelled this evening, Sunday 25 October, due to high winds from Storm Boelo. This also extends to the Tower Projections.
The safety of our visitors and volunteers must always come first. We apologise for the disappointment and appreciate your understanding.
Please check our website and social media channels for further updates.
Batten down the hatches! It’s wild out there 🌊💨 #StormBoelo

We love seeing how much everyone is enjoying our Guardians of the North installations on the Tower Festival Headland this season. However, despite the clear signage around them, we continue to spot people climbing onto the turrets and our three dragons 🐉
These delicate features are not climbing frames! They are equipped with live smoke-breathing features, meaning the structures house working equipment.
We want to ensure these giant guardians stay safe and looking their best for everyone to enjoy right through until the end of the Illuminations. Even the bravest knights know when to look, not touch!
Enjoy the magic safely, respect the signs, keep your feet on the ground and help us protect the dragons so they can continue guarding the Headland all season long. Thank you for your support!
IMPORTANT FIREWORK EVENT UPDATE
Unfortunately, due to forecast weather conditions, the World Fireworks Championship Blackpool on Saturday 10 October has been cancelled.
Following close monitoring throughout the week, the predicted wind speed and direction would make it unsafe for the event to go ahead.
We know this will be disappointing for everyone who was planning to attend, but the safety of our fireworks teams and spectators must come first.
We will review whether there may be an opportunity for the event to take place at a future date and will provide updates if appropriate.
Thank you for your understanding. ❤️
Spooky season is upon us and there's plenty to see and do in Blackpool 🎃👻

To mark 100 years of Stanley Park, celebrations continued last night with the switch-on of new lighting around the park 💫💡
The new lighting illuminated some of the park’s best-known features, including the new centenary emblem, festoon lighting and tree lighting along key routes, as well as the Italian Gardens fountain and Cocker Clock.
It was all part of a programme of events and activities marking Stanley Park’s centenary year, celebrating 100 years of one of Blackpool’s most much-loved green spaces 💚
Wow, how spectacular was Stanley Park’s drone show to celebrate the park’s 100th birthday? Here are some highlights ✨
We are so incredibly proud of our town. Nowhere does it quite like Blackpool ❤️
