Strengthening emergency and palliative care in Navelim. Visited PHC Navelim today and interacted with the staff, patients and their families. From tomorrow, a 24x7 Emergency Care Centre will be operational at the PHC, supported by additional staff nurses and a doctor. 4 new ambulances were launched today, 1 will be provided under the State Care initiative, 1 stationed at PHC Navelim, along with 1 dedicated ambulance each for Cavelossim village and Sanguem. For palliative care patients, we have also provided additional medicines, Fowler beds, oxygen concentrators and an additional physiotherapist. Through ongoing home visits to patients undergoing critical care and palliative care, we are listening to their needs and understanding the challenges faced by their families. A detailed review was convened to assess feedback and strengthen home based palliative care. As part of this effort, palliative care at home will be brought under the State Care initiative, strengthening support, improving access to essential facilities and easing the burden on patients and their families.
