Hot take about VTubing on a Tuesday afternoon but as someone who was involved in the drag scene before getting into streaming, a lot of folks should try to be more cognizant of how they’re adding or detracting from a stream during a collab.
When you’re collaborating with someone, you have to think about two things: Am I dominating the conversation OR am I adding anything to the viewing experience.
If you’re constantly talking over others, acting like the main character of a collab, or doing antics to constantly draw group attention, it comes off as tacky. Streaming is similar to improv, you have to give people space to perform. Feeling like you’re fighting to get a word in is a horrible experience.
I’m sure a lot of us have experienced those giant collabs where you knew no one and felt like a complete wallflower, unable to even enjoy yourself or be yourself.
That being said, you also have to give your fellow performers content to work with. When people are trying to banter with you, consider returning serve or offering a joke or conversation in return. It goes beyond replying in a dead tone, “Woah, that’s crazy.” The absolute worst feeling is trying to make a stream fun and feeling like no one else wants to do the heavy lifting with you.
I totally advise my fellow streamers to watch comedians, drag queens, reality television, interviews, just content that isn’t strictly streaming to get what I mean.
I know a lot of folks in this space don’t come from an entertaining background, they’re just gamers. But, this is what separates good and bad collab experiences, in my opinion.
And ofc, lemme say this isn’t a subtweet at anyone! I’ve curated my space over the last few years so it’s something I’ve experienced less and less over time. However, it’s something I’m always working on myself.
But yeah, being mindful can help you create some really fun streams and memories 😌
if you take comms on vgen, i think its best to make an awareness post ahead of time (even if u havent experienced this). i think theyre targeting vgen artists and messaging clients based on what we post on our portfolio there!
you might be the next target artist

Update regarding community safety on VGen
UNETHICAL BROKERS:
Happy to say we’ve identified many previously unconfirmed JRUhub brokers, affiliates, and other unethical group accounts and they have all been banned for misrepresenting the nature of their profiles and services, intentionally inviting bad actors, and ban evading.
Big thank you to everyone in our community who has helped to investigate, report on-site, and provide detailed proof that our team were then able to review and take action on. Thank you for helping us keep the community safe!
REMAINING BROKERS:
In the short term, broker discovery has been rebalanced, their withheld funds processed through VGen Payments may not be released until after a commission is complete, and all brokers will continue to not have any invite codes. If any broker accounts mistype themselves as an individual or studio, they will now be suspended for at least 1 month immediately upon discovery.
We are still evaluating whether additional long-term actions are required.
Please do not assume all brokers are bad. However, if you do see suspicious behaviour, please continue to report them on-site and we will investigate.
ARTIST INVITE CODES:
There is now a hard limit of 2 unused artist invite codes per Verified Artist at any given time. If you earn more through a challenge or special event drop and you already have 2 in your dashboard, you won’t receive any more.
ARTIST CODE GIVEAWAYS:
Effective Nov 1, 2026, general contests, raffles, or applications are no longer allowed, even if recipients are screened. This is due to the increasing sophistication of groups who fraudulently misrepresent themselves as individuals.
If you see someone hosting a raffle or are in violation of our Artist Code Policy in any way, please report them on-site with a screenshot or link to their violating post and we’ll investigate. Their first offence will result in a warning before more severe administrative actions may be taken for repeated offences, including losing verification status and suspensions.

I hope you all are happy with the future that we all are heading into.
Digital Sun has canceled the public playtest for ReVamp because it fears AI tools could be used to reverse-engineer and clone the game.
The first test will now be limited to a small group through Discord, starting October 29, with the public playtest planned for around January.
Digital Sun said: “We’ve been concerned by the recent news of games being reverse-engineered, cloned and published before the original is even out.”
“Showing games early is how indies get seen and find the fans who keep us going.”

saying this after claiming you are "ethical brokers" is crazy
this is literally the definition of unethical labor
WE ARE MAKING A VGEN ALTERNATIVE SITE!
After Vgen support gave us a lukewarm, unsatisfactory answer in addressing the broker issue, refund issue, and our verification status issue, our coders have decided to make a vgen alternative site.
- real humans will vett every artist
- it will be as close to mihuashi's terms as possible without stealing
- fees will be incredibly low and taken 50/50 from the artist and customer like mihuashi
- search by price, type, duration
- extremely customizable and detailed profiles

Our thoughts on the state of brokers, and the fear a lot of artists are feeling right now:
We've been reading your posts and seeing how affected you are by this. You've spent years learning to draw, and are now competing with brokers who steal work, use AI, and sell it for less. And clients are hurt by this too: they commission something in good faith, then find out they'd paid for unethical work.
This is a legitimate issue, and every commission site is dealing with it, us included. We've found brokers here pretending to be individuals and studios, which we banned once we were able to confirm it. Other platforms are fighting the same thing, and we want them to win too. Artists as a whole are better off when every platform is a harder place for unethical brokers to operate.
The questions we've been seeing, and our thoughts:
"Why ban brokers? Some of them are ethical."
Some are, and we don't doubt that. However, we felt the unethical ones outnumbered the good ones. Sorting the good from the bad case by case wasn't something a team our size could do reliably, and we would prefer for artists to sell directly so they can keep more of their earnings.
"Even if you ban a broker, they'll just make a new account posing as an individual, so it's pointless."
Even if that's true, it isn't a reason to stop. First, being a broker on our platform is against our TOS. Second, a ban does have consequences, even for brokers. A successful broker account usually takes time: tons of listings, reviews, followers, repeat clients, a social media presence with history... The new account has to start over from scratch. Imagine if your commission page was banned, and you had to change your identity entirely to open another one. Now imagine that happening over and over. Eventually, you may not want to even bother selling on that platform at all, and that's our goal with brokers.
"If you don't allow brokers, why is there one on your platform?"
Anyone who applies as a broker gets rejected. The ones who get through don't apply as brokers. A broker being here means they either got past our application by lying, or that they received a Creator Key from another artist that trusted them. Although we strive to 100% broker free, we can't promise that (no platform can) because there will always be bad actors and people who are dishonest. However, we do investigate and remove the ones we have evidence for.
"I reported a broker that was labelled on another platform, why weren't they banned?"
A ban or label on another platform is useful context, but we don't have access to the evidence behind another platform's decision. And when we ask these accounts why they were labelled a broker elsewhere, they say they were never given a reason for the label, and that it was inaccurately applied to their account. Please know we want to act on every legitimate report. However, we can't ban someone just because another site did. We have to treat reports with consistency and fairness, and that means acting on evidence: what you send us, or what we find ourselves when we investigate. So if you're reporting a broker, please gather evidence that can be independently verified, and submit it with your report.
Our final thoughts:
We understand the frustration, and we appreciate that you're holding platforms to a higher standard. People speaking up for what they believe in is how change happens. We also want to remind people: there's room to be kind while you advocate. There's been a lot of harsh criticism on here lately, and we've been seeing other platforms receive a lot of hate as well, so please remember that there are real people reading your words, and they can hurt. We know first hand that running a platform is not easy. We also don't earn as much as others due to our 0% commissions fees, and it's especially hard for us to hire more people to moderate at the moment. However, that's not stopping us from continuing to work hard and doing what we can with what we have.
Thanks for reading if you made it this far, we'll continue to do our best to support you.

‼️ Here is a fantastic example of a fake vtuber profile looking to trick people. ‼️ Watch out for these signs:
- They use the term "Vtuber loading" but in strange ways like as part of their name.
- Every single reply contains "follow back and let's collab", even to accounts which are obviously not vtubers.
- No actual art of their vtuber or links to streaming platform. Uses gifs of another vtuber in their posts.
- Tags AdvancedGG in their bio but doesn't appear to be sponsored or affiliated.
