I live on the Mount of Olives, facing the place where the Temple stood — and will stand again.
On Substack I write Geula Movement: essays and daily notes on Aliyah, redemption, and why the Jewish future is in Israel, not in exile. It's free to subscribe.
I Am a Shliach. A Shliach Aliyah.
I consider myself a Shliach. A Shliach Aliyah. Not a Shliach of the Rebbe, but of the Ribbono Shel Olam Himself.
We have spent two thousand years asking Hashem to bring us home. Now that He has opened the door, what are we waiting for?
New on Geula Movement: "I Am a Shliach. A Shliach Aliyah." Four years ago I stood outside the Kinus HaShluchim holding a sign: "End Exile!" This year I've been invited inside. The mission: not another outpost in exile, but a House for Hashem in Jerusalem. geulamovement.substack.com/p…
אַל־תֵּרֵד מִצְרָיְמָה שְׁכֹן בָּאָרֶץ — "Do not go down to Egypt; dwell in the Land" (Bereishit 26:2). Yitzchak faced famine and leaving looked reasonable. Hashem said stay. He is the one patriarch who never leaves this Land. Geula is not escaping hard times elsewhere. It is staying home through them.

וַיִּהְיוּ חַיֵּי שָׂרָה — "And the life of Sarah was…" (Bereishit 23:1). The Torah does not count Sarah's years in Haran or in Egypt. It names her life at its end — in Hebron, in this Land. A life is not measured by where it was comfortable. It is measured by where it was lived for eternity.

A question for Chayei Sarah week: Avraham built the next generation here on purpose — a burial place bought, a wife brought, a son kept in the Land. What part of building your life here feels most daunting right now — community, parnassah, or raising a family — and what part are you most hungry for? And if you are already home, what part of building here surprised you most?

אַרְבַּע מֵאוֹת שֶׁקֶל כֶּסֶף עֹבֵר לַסֹּחֵר — "four hundred shekels of silver, current with the merchant" (Bereishit 23:16). Avraham did not wait for Hebron to be handed to him as a gift. He weighed out the full price, in public, and made Machpelah ours. Geula is not waited for. It is built, bought, and settled — here.

A question for Chayei Sarah week: Avraham paid the full price for Machpelah — 400 shekels of silver (Bereishit 23:16) — for Land already promised to him. What cost of coming home feels heaviest to you right now: money, career, or distance from family? And if you are already home, which cost turned out lighter than you feared?

New essay: "America's Election Results: A Wake-Up Call, Not a Tragedy." I am not saddened by these results. They may be exactly the wake-up call American Jewry needs. geulamovement.substack.com/p…
America needs Israel more than Israel needs America. "I will bless those who bless you" (Bereishit 12:3). Our security was never in Washington's hands — it rests on the covenant. נצח ישראל לא ישקר.
Do not wait for the next warning. "And you shall choose life" (Devarim 30:19). It is time to choose life, choose our future, and finally come home. Read the essay: geulamovement.substack.com/p…
