YOU CAN MK-ULTRA YOURSELF AND THE CIA WOULD RATHER YOU DIDN'T

In one hand: a clothespin from the 1960s. Solid hardwood, smooth from decades of use. It still works perfectly, some 60 years later. In the other: a clothespin from 2025. Lighter, paler wood, brittle. The spring is thin and unstable. Marketed as “extra durable,” my dad just raised an eyebrow. At first glance, it’s just two clothespins. But they tell a bigger story — the shift from durability to disposability, from craftsmanship to cost-cutting, from stewardship to constant consumption. This is planned obsolescence in action. Products are designed to fail so we must keep buying. Slowly, subtly, they break. Frayed wires, cracked hinges, brittle springs. Not because we want more, but because the old was never built to last. The costs are everywhere. Landfills overflow. Wallets empty. And maybe most quietly, our spirits grow accustomed to impermanence, to the idea that nothing is meant to endure. What if this philosophy extends beyond objects? What if it shapes how we treat relationships, communities, homes, even the Earth — as temporary, replaceable, disposable? It doesn’t have to be this way. That 1960s clothespin reminds us another path is possible. That we once made things to last, and we can again. That quality, care, and intention matter. That we can design for repair, for continuity, for meaning.

The father of seven has not finished a thought in four years. he is just moving. feeding. driving. wiping. his brain is soup and his back is finished and he has no opinions about civilization he is too tired for opinions. and meanwhile civilization is growing out of him like he is dirt and he doesnt even notice because there is milk on the floor again. the childfree man has read eleven books this year about the decline of the west and he is the decline and the books are the evidence and he will understand this at fifty eight in a room that is very clean and very quiet

This app can magnify “competition” but there’s really no competition with anyone besides yourself. Calling the bottom or “being first” into a stock doesn’t matter. Making money does. Someone who bought the exact bottom could’ve sold after 10% and someone who bought 10% off the lows could still be holding while it goes higher. Someone who bought at the bottom might have bought small size but another person who bought 10% later could’ve bought big size while it goes 20% higher. In the end it doesn’t matter when you bought. What matters is if you followed your process/plan.

FT: ETFs could seize half of current US mutual fund assets, says Citi US investors have gradually gradually switching from #mutualfunds to #ETFs for at least the past decade, attracted by lower costs, better liquidity and greater #tax efficiency. Mutual funds, excluding money market funds, have seen net outflows in nine of the past 10 years in the US, according to data from the Investment Company Institute, even as ETFs have seen constant inflows. However, the mutual fund industry remains far larger, with $19.6tn in long-term funds at the end of 2023, according to the ICI, dwarfing the $8.1tn in US-listed ETFs. This could reverse in the coming decade, though, according to Citi, which believes $6tn to $10tn of the remaining money in long-term mutual funds is at risk of capture by ETFs.

Coffee should only be enjoyed in high vibrational states. You sip coffee to fuel creative pursuits. What you never do is RELY on coffee as a crutch for basic human function. If that's you? You need immediate coffee jail. And here's how you never end up there again.

Precisely when you screenshot your trade & share it with your friends, It reverses on you. This teaches us an extremely important lesson about Trading Psychology & Liquidity: Liquidity is a derivative of the decisions human traders make. All human traders, to a degree, are influenced by emotions. 5% have managed to mitigate it enough to remain profitable 95% have not, thus the reason they fall in the unprofitable category. If you are making decisions in the moment, You are most likely influenced by emotions. Why? The prefrontal cortex is the part of the brain which is responsible for ration. The amygdala is the part of the brain which is responsible for emotion / irration. The amygdala reacts much faster than the prefrontal cortex, due to this, humans often find it hard to make the right decision in the moment & this is why the right decision often becomes extremely obvious in hindsight. If you're making a decision which is heavily influenced by emotions, you are most likely going to do the same thing as most human traders. You're most likely going to be making a similar decision to them & if you're consistently making similar decisions to them, don't be surprised when you fall into the same category as them.

I have a question. ~19.6 million coins out there. Less if you count stolen/lost. 11 ETFs (just in the US) Each ETF can issue shares reflecting the value of X portion of their own holdings. Between the shares and "real" bitcoin how much of it is "paper" bitcoin? Will the issuance be kept in check with their holdings? Or are we going to wake up one day with more paper Bitcoin than real Bitcoin? Pardon my ignorance, but there's a shiny metal etf I've had this issue with (SLV)
