Taking these shortcuts are what led to AI art to begin with. Tracing, photobashing et al industrializing the art field into an assembly line project, created this paradigm where AI art could establish itself from. Another example of capitalism and market incentives causing doom.

Videogames as they exist now fall closer to the commodity side of the Art<—>Commercial Commodity spectrum and haven't really figured themselves out as a medium yet (it doesn't help that the unregulated games industry has become the largest money laundering scheme in history). 1/2

It also took film like 100 years to figure itself out as a medium (what started as a novelty) and now we have a semi-clear delineation between art films and blockbuster consumer commodities. Games are nowhere near that point yet. 2/2

silent hill only makes monsters out of your guilt and psychological situation. if a kid goes there they wont see anything but an empty town. I'd imagine the same for an adult who never had guilt but that'd be impossible

They're trying to look like demons. They want to look inhuman and "above" the lowly dregs, the conventional prole. The exaggerated proportions are a status symbol for the elect. It is beyond jewelry/clothes, it is their very flesh they wish to contort into purebred shunting (2/2)
