putting down my 2026 thoughts on pso2ngs into words and it can be irresponsibly generalized to "wow, genshin impact did irreparable damage" speculatively i'd also point at the canceled sega supergame resource-siphoning, but man, that rushed open world did everyone zero favors

"making the best with what we have until a possible pso3" i suppose would be the vibes im getting from both dev roadmap and active player side. we've got a decent bunch of stuff (customization, creative space, engaging boss raids) but not a whole lot of momentum nor meat to cook

Happy 7 year anniversary to me! Here's a sentimental little letter from me, nothing scary in here I promise.

random lunch thought: i do hope the coming jet boots refresh makes it a better standalone weapon and not just a sub or utility wep. also hoping that jet intensity sees more use outside of nicher phys down buildup, rn there's little reason to go for it when jetsweep jolt exists

not too sold on ngs lucia. it's like they took klariskrays 2nd, gave her the ep4 aru/al treatment, then had her speedrun a matoi arc interested in the new starless angle though, would be fun to have the starless see simulated halpha and go "y'all really live like this?"

also wish the team tried something funky with lucia rather than playing it straight. "total amnesiac arrives in new world, is welcomed by friendly people, discovers her true nature, gets distraught" is par for the course. her actually considering the possibility could be fun

the "cosmic threat" angle staple of pso is finally tangibly back though, so i'm happy with the direction. hope we see more fucked up dark falz iterations, maybe something that outfreaks even the primordial darkness
