We live in the information age, the age of the sovereign individual, but the services available to us are not aligned with that.
@gavofyork argues that Polkadotβs core technology is now ready to deliver the applications people will actually use in this new age.

Already write Solidity? Revive brings Solidity compilation for PolkaVM to the @Polkadot ecosystem.
Revive compiles Solidity contracts to run on PolkaVM, Polkadot's RISC-V virtual machine. Your contracts can work with the assets and apps on Polkadot Hub, without having to learn a new language.
Keep the tools you use, with a Hardhat plugin and an npm package. It's experimental and open source, published for developers to test, build on and shape:

Four stories. Four different ways personal data can slip out of our control.
In just a few weeks, we've seen mass surveillance, third-party breaches, commercial data exposure, and misuse of privileged access.
Here's what happened. π§΅

Bitcoin showed an open network can agree on who owns what, with no bank in charge.
Humanity on @Polkadot takes on the next problem: recognising that an account belongs to one real person without anyone learning who they are.

As per an investigation carried out on behalf of the Polkadot Community Foundation, it was found that the Fearless Wallet browser extension had been compromised and had been leaking users' private keys since February 2025.
This vulnerability does NOT impact Nova Wallet.
However, Nova Wallet users who have also input their Seed Phrase/Private Key into the Fearless Wallet browser extension should immediately move their funds out of any wallets that they believe may have been affected.
We recommend that everyone review the quoted announcement from the Polkadot account and take the necessary action if you have used the Fearless Wallet browser extension.
If you believe that you are affected by this, you should create a new wallet in Nova Wallet and transfer your assets to that new wallet. You can find steps on how to do this here: docs.novawallet.io/nova-wallβ¦
To be clear, this vulnerability does not impact the Nova Wallet iOS or Android apps.
As always, we recommend that users treat their Private Keys/Seed Phrase with great care, and ideally use a dedicated Hardware Wallet, such as Polkadot Vault, to ensure that their Seed Phrases are not compromised.
Security Alert for Fearless Wallet
Fearless Wallet is a third-party application, built and maintained by an independent team.
Following an investigation by the Polkadot Technical Fellowship on behalf of the @PCF_org, it was found that the Fearless Wallet browser extension had been compromised and had been leaking usersβ private keys since February 2025.
If you have used the Fearless Wallet browser extension, please create a new keypair with a different wallet and move your funds as soon as possible.
Remember to never share your private keys.

What should a Polkadot product feel like?
You shouldn't need to understand the infrastructure behind it.
A URL should be enough to open it. Interfaces should feel familiar. Your identity should remain coherent across the experience. And privacy shouldn't disappear just because you interact with someone else.
That's the product standard Gavin Wood described during the @Web3summit for Polkadot Products.
The technology underneath can be complex.
The experience shouldn't be.

Building for the Human Web3 means a layer that keeps working when one server, one region or one company doesnβt.
Apps served from the browser.
Chain data checked by a light client.
Signing that never hands keys to the app.
All open-source code, out in the open for anyone to build on.
BREAKING: Multiple online services are down or 'experiencing issues.'
Google Cloud has reported "issues" in its western Europe region affecting dozens of websites, including; Revolut, Royal Mail and HSBC.

β οΈ Recruitment fraud warning
We've seen reports of scammers posing as recruiters for @Kusama, @Polkadot and the Web3 Foundation, asking applicants to pay for tests or assessments. In other cases, people are asked to download GitHub repos containing malicious code.
These are hoaxes.
Web3 Foundation does not charge people to apply for jobs. Polkadot and Kusama are decentralised networks, not employers.
Stay vigilant. Never pay to apply for a job, and be cautious before clicking on unsolicited links.

As products like the @Polkadot app bring more people on-chain, the network underneath has to grow with them.
Today, the nodes serving users are run by separate groups, each funded on its own terms.
What if validators, already a large and accountable fleet, took on more of that work, and were paid for the extra capacity?
Validators, we'd like to hear from you:
- If you ran an extra node alongside your validator, what would break first?
- How much notice would you need to add hardware?
- What would make it worth doing, beyond covering the cost?

Your old phone can keep your keys safer than your new one.
In 2018, Parity Signer turned a spare smartphone into an offline signing device for @Polkadot. Keys never touch the internet. Transactions travel in and out by QR code, and the phone signs them without ever going online.
The project lives on as Polkadot Vault, now developed and maintained by @NovasamaTech.

The safest way to protect your DOT doesnβt require purchasing new hardware.
Dig out an old smartphone, wipe it, install Polkadot Vault, and never connect it to the internet again.
Now you can sign transactions by scanning a QR code while keeping your keys safe.

Letβs build a different kind of web.
One that is open by default.
One that assumes you own your identity, your data and your money.
One that doesnβt make you jump through hoops.
No logins. No digital landlords and no learning curve.
Web2 user experience with Web3 values.
Ultimately, a human web.
