Waiting for my son to arrive at the train station. Fashionably late as usual.

Nice look at the pups of the Boulder Bed Rapids Pack following their mom this August. The pack had 7 pups this spring, the largest litter we documented this spring. It appears 4 maybe 5 of the pups are still alive. Hard to tell exactly how many pups there were because they were milling about.
Either way, that is a pretty good survival rate at that point of the year. However, it is highly likely some of these pups did not survive the dire period of time in late August and September when many pups die because the parents are not able to acquire enough food for the pups.
Recent footage and footage from this winter should be telling in this regard. Notably, the average pack in our area over the past 7 years has reared an average of 1.3 pups to adulthood meaning that ~71% of pups do not survive.

Not too many days left this fall before it gets too cold and windy (for me) for cycling 🚴♂️ - so I was glad to get out this evening to enjoy fall colours 🍁 and check on the farmers 🤔 and their harvesting.
The corn 🌽 still in the ground, soya being harvested.

I was invited to address the @UN Security Council this afternoon to discuss the unprecedented threat posed by uncontrolled frontier AI agents.
Humanity has summoned the courage and wisdom to manage catastrophic risks before. This is one of those moments, far bigger than any personal, commercial, or national interest. The choices we make about this technology today will shape generations to come. We must act now.

Wolves live, hunt, raise young and spend most of their lives in packs. They're highly social animals.
This is what happens when one of them leaves the pack for some time and then reunites with it.

We're upon a new pillar of #AI - the #PhysicalAI.
What does that mean for Canada, for our prosperity and sovereignty, and who are the 🇨🇦 #PhysicalAI actors?
Let's tackle that conversation on the upcoming #PAICA webcast series - stay tuned.

These words of PM. Chretien are so true and reflect the feelings of millions of Canadians.
“I have a message for American friends. Yes, Canada is a generous, open country and Canadians are tolerant and kind. But never mistake our generosity for weakness. Never mistake our tolerance for lack of determination. And never, never mistake our kindness for softness."
— Former PM Jean Chrétien, speaking at 9/11 commemoration ceremony in Gander, N.L.
