Wow! We have a facsimile of Smellie's forceps on display in our collection and a former Curator was a descendant! 🥰 Thank you for sharing Waring Library.
Check out this anatomical illustration from "Anatomical Tables with Explanations and an Abridgement of the Practice of Midwifery" by William Smellie, MD (1787). Smellie then decided to publish this book with enhanced illustrations to supplement his previous publications.
