See y'all on a platform not run by an edgelord boosting a mendacious, misogynist, fossil fuel loving, fascists' friend for POTUS. GFY Musk.

This is devastating. Over a hundred BBC staff have signed a letter declaring they've been forced to do PR for Israel. Just the latest chapter in the biggest scandal of Western journalism of our time owenjones.news/p/bbc-staff-w…

The BBC, which has been downplaying – or more usually ignoring – Israeli atrocities in Gaza every day for 13 months, dedicates 2 minutes of its hour-long lunchtime news to the ICC issuing an arrest warrant against Netanyahu for committing crimes against humanity. Those two minutes are from their Jerusalem correspondent, explaining why Netanyahu and Israelis will disagree. That's it. Nothing on the diplomatic significance. Nothing on how this will strengthen the genocide case against Israel at the World Court. Nothing from international law experts. Nothing on how embarrassing this is for Israel's patrons like the UK and US. And nothing, of course, on how it leaves western politicians – and media like the BBC – dangerously exposed for their complicity in the genocide.

Ho-ho! Lord Walney linked to a Just Stop Oil action planning doc, painting them as extremists on account of behaving as if the climate emergency is an emergency. So they replaced the document with one listing his links to the arms trade, fossil fuel lobbyists & the Israeli mil.
This instruction manual for a road block stunt today demanding my sacking and the release of convicted climate vandals gives insight into a well-resourced network adept in tactics like burner phones usually deployed by hardened criminals. docs.google.com/document/u/0…

Imagine if the £22bn was invested instead in a nationwide programme to upgrade housing with insulation & heatpumps - demonstrable, proven emissions reductions - reduced reliance on gas - more jobs, nationwide - lower fuel bills - warmer homes, less pressure on NHS

Replacing a gas boiler with a heat pump in the UK cuts emissions by 77-86%. This includes the embodied emissions from manufacturing the heat pump. This means the heat pump would offset its embodied carbon after 13 months. carbonbrief.org/factcheck-18…

JD Vance: "Some of our democratic colleagues say that carbon emissions cause climate change". Actually @JDVance 20,000 climate scientists, most physical scientists, every national science academy and every association of professional scientists say that carbon emissions do that.

This was the moment that mattered. Trump's political movement relies on total impunity for liars, and mostly gets it. The lies bind them together, cement their feeling of power.

Better public transport and safe cycling infrastructure isn't about taking away people's freedom to drive - it's about giving them the freedom to not have to drive

Democracy only works under conditions where there’s rough consensus on reality. We don’t have mechanisms to encourage such consensus anymore. The increasingly nightmarishly delusional discourse on this platform attests to it.

How do you do 3 miles in the rain or snow? Or with kids? Or with grocery or even Costco purchases? Bikes are nice for certain things. Cars are better for most other scenarios. Moreover, most US cities were build around cars, not bikes. Can’t just mandate them.

Went to help in the Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area today, and it’s hard to describe - never seen anything like this. Post apocalyptic. It’s so overwhelming you don’t even know how to fathom what recovery looks like, let alone where to start. Going to be a long path to recovery that all levels of stakeholders are going to be needed.

It’s hard to imagine a more shameful indictment of our sewage crisis than what I witnessed on the River Avon this afternoon. A flock of swans & ducks feeding & cavorting in a plume of raw sewage, just a few hundred metres from the centre of the genteel City of Bath. This huge sewage spill entered the river after a short 10 minute rainstorm of average intensity. It is highly unlikely that the circumstances were exceptional and thus this discharge is likely to be a criminal offence. I (somewhat ironically) spotted this spill on my way to speak to local river activists on the Avon. I’ve encouraged them all to demand that both the @EnvAgency & the local authority @bathnes hold @wessexwater to account for their disgusting & disgraceful actions.
