This whole “you can’t have an opinion until you buy it” thing doesn’t make much sense to me I get the instinct on one hand. On the other, if everyone keeps buying the product, they’ll keep making it At some point people have to realize that constant consumption doesn’t force better results—it just funds the next version of the same compromise Gears of War: E-Day looks like it has a lot to like, but it could have been better. We all know what happened with Halo, Dragon Age, the Wolverine game, and others as well User reviews, public pushback and then not buying the games as a result is basically the only real protest most players have. If everyone buys these games anyway, while the people demanding better get talked down or shamed into buying it too, the studios have no reason to change course I think there’s a point where you have to be honest and say it’s not good enough. I think these franchises deserved to be respected and perfected for the core audience that made them what they were to begin with “It’s not as bad as people say, it’s only kind of bad” isn’t a high bar Disagree if you want. Thats okay. I still think we deserve better. People are in fact allowed not to buy a game. They’re allowed to be informed on what to expect And yes! Make your opinion heard! Genuinely. If you like something, hate something, disagree or agree with people, talk about it! With regard to a lot of these games though, the core fans deserved better
