It's an emergency. You need to move some of your crypto, so you open your exchange and try to withdraw. Except withdrawals are suspended. You check again. Still suspended. You wait for an update, hoping you can access your money soon. That's the uncomfortable part about keeping your crypto on a centralized exchange. Even when the balance is yours, your access can depend on the platform. Binance users got a reminder of this after its October 29 security incident led to a temporary withdrawal suspension. Withdrawals resumed in phases on November 1. The team had security checks to carry out, but users who needed access during that window still had to wait. This is one of the reasons self-custody matters. With a @Tangem hardware wallet, you hold your private keys and can initiate transactions without depending on an exchange to reopen withdrawals.
