So yes—these are files BitNinja intentionally creates to test their scanner. And yes—they're using detections of these files to send "WARNING: Malware Found!" emails to lapsed customers.
Security vendors should be held to a higher standard. Your inbox shouldn't be a vector for FUD from the tools meant to protect you.
This is the kind of manufactured urgency that erodes trust in security tooling. If a vendor will use fake threats to pressure you into reactivating a license, what else are they willing to exaggerate?
These are dummy files BitNinja creates to verify their scanner works. They're now using detections of their own verification artifacts to send alarming win-back emails to lapsed customers.
1,100+ Clawdbot servers just got exposed.
