the audacity of men to shame indian women who have suffered childbirth, patriarchy, endless types of emotional abuse at different levels by eating after everyone, eating stale food, putting their needs behind everyone else’s in the house. you’re not a coach, you’re a cockroach.
Having issues with a return request @AJIOLife there's no point calling customer care after filling an elaborate form simply to discover it can't be returned via the app. Pls help me

Dear Mr. SRK sir ,
I trust this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I recently had the privilege of watching your latest film, "Jawan," and I felt compelled to convey my deep appreciation for your extraordinary commitment to using cinema as a means to address critical socio-political issues.
The movie's poignant portrayal of the tragic Gorakhpur Encephalitis incident has left an indelible mark on my heart. As someone who has had a personal connection with the incident and its aftermath, I was profoundly moved by your decision to bring this story to the screen.
While I understand that "Jawan" is a work of fiction, the parallels it draws to the Gorakhpur tragedy serve as a powerful reminder of the systemic failures, apathy, and, most importantly, the innocent lives lost. It underscores the urgent need for accountability within our healthcare system .
The character portrayed by @sanyamalhotra07 ( as Dr Eeram Khan ) although not directly referencing me, encapsulated the experiences I faced. It was heartening to witness the real culprit of “ The Gorakhpur Hospital Tragedy “ got caught , though sadly in real life the real culprits are roaming free , me still struggling to get my job back , and those 63 parents who lost their little ones still waiting for justice.
On a personal note, I would like to share that I have authored a book titled "The Gorakhpur Hospital Tragedy," originally published by @panmacmillan and available in more than six languages which provides a comprehensive first hand account of the tragedy and its aftermath. I believe that a part of the movie's plot resonates with the events detailed in my book.
If given the opportunity, I would be immensely honored to meet you and the talented director @Atlee_dir , as well as other members of the film's crew, to express my gratitude personally.
I also want to assure you that my sanctification, devotion, and determination towards serving my countrymen would continue undeterred.
Thank you once again for being a beacon of hope. I look forward to your kind reply.
Warmest regards,
Dr Kafeel Khan

TO DELHI MEDIA: The current (possibly GLOF triggered) Teesta flashfloods in Sikkim is definitely BIGGER than 2013 Uttarakhand and 2022 Himachal Pradesh.
A MAJOR HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT HAS BEEN DESTROYED. The full extent of damage is going to be apparent soon. Sikkim is sparsely populated, so human casualties might be minimum (🙏), but this is a massive event in geological terms.
This was predicted for years, especially in the Teesta river system, and it has come true. It will upend all planned hydro projects in entire Himalayan regions.
Get your heads out of the sand and give this event some coverage that is different from usual disaster porn.
In 2008 I was a journalist in Delhi. I took a story to my editor and said, 'hey they are building the largest dam in India with no water data, especially of peak flood events'
The Delhi editor said: 'stick to numbers being given by hydro project developer.'
Small vindication on seeing events today. Sad.

After they split, Marques Jamal Jackson logged into a security system in his ex's mother's home and began recording her every move
He gathered explicit images and her personal information, and share them with the world via a public Dropbox folder, a porn site and social media platforms. He also sent links to her family, friends and co-workers.
Jackson also sent her a message: “You will spend the rest of your life trying and failing to wipe yourself off the internet. Everyone you ever meet will hear the story and go looking ... Happy Hunting.”
Last week, a Texas jury in Harris County awarded her $1.2 billion in a verdict that serves as a message to anyone who would pursue a similar campaign of online abuse. Jackson “will spend the rest of his life trying and failing to wipe this financial debt clear.”

Triboulet was a jester for Louis XII, the King of France from 1498 to 1515. He is perhaps most famous for slapping the king on the butt. This act greatly angered the king, and he threatened to have Triboulet executed. After taking a moment to calm down, the king decided to spare Triboulet's life if he could think of an apology that was more offensive than what he had just done to the king.
Triboulet went on to say, "I'm so sorry, your majesty, that I didn't recognize you! I mistook you for the Queen!" While Triboulet's response was clever and indeed more offensive, it broke an order that prohibited anyone from making fun of the queen. The king decided to proceed with the execution but allowed Triboulet to choose how he would die. With his life on the line, Triboulet replied, "Good sire, for Saint Nitouche's and Saint Pansard's sake, patrons of insanity, I choose to die from old age."
The speechless king could do nothing but laugh. He canceled the execution and decided to banish Triboulet.

a small thread on living alone
Some days are spectacular. Your own day, your own terms. Coffee just the way you like it and extra cream cheese in the omlette.
The cats and me, and the world seems alright.
And then there are other days. Like today. Like many other days before

Hey @Uber_India
I pay online for my trips and I'm unable to tip the driver. The man is a cheerful person and only while getting down the auto I realised he was driving with one leg.
I just wish there was a way to tip him after my ride was over.

In the early 1990s, Brazilian photojournalist Sebastião Ribeiro Salgado was stationed in Rwanda to cover the genocide. The experience left him traumatized.
In 1994, when he returned to his home in Minas Gerais, Brazil, Sebastião was hoping to find solace in the lush green forest of his childhood. Instead, he discovered that his home had turned into a dusty, barren land for miles and miles, devoid of any wildlife.
"The land was as sick as I was. Only about 0.5% of the land was covered in trees," he said.
It was at this time that his wife, Lélia Deluiz Wanick Salgado, proposed that they replant the entire forest. Sebastião supported the idea, and the two of them spent the next 20 years planting 2.7 million trees.
This resulted in the recovery of 1,500 acres of rainforest, and the site eventually became home to 293 plant species, 172 bird species, and 33 animal species, some of which were on the verge of extinction.
