I have spent years thinking about what it means to actually own your money. Today you can hold it, put it to work, spend it, and send it, and nobody can stand between you and it. Not even us. Sovra is live. Download it today.
Sovra is live. Hold dollars, put them to work, spend with a card, send across borders in minutes. All in one app. Nothing stands between you and your money. Not even us. Available now on the App Store and Google Play.

Does he even know about #Riad_Salame ?
The largest crypto exchange in the world just experienced the largest robbery in human history—and the person running it is a nomadic autistic man in Dubai posting “Funds are SAFU!” What a time to be alive.

The rails are global now, but the experience should still speak the user's language. Sovra's first ad, in Arabic.

Your money, is your money* *unless you live in Europe
JUST IN - EU President Ursula von der Leyen says that people's savings accounts are a problem and that she must put this money "to the service of European companies" says her plan to "securitize them" and "supervise them" They're coming for your savings, Europe.

The difference between selling crypto and building sovereign money technology clearly articulated right here
I use Revolut daily. But never deposit crypto to it. I imagine users swap EUR for EURR, move to DeFi to generate yield. Then deposit EURR+yield back to Revolut, they 'flag' your account and freeze funds. Requests for Source of Income docs. Even if you do it well, account can stay suspended for weeks. "About 8% of crypto transfers get flagged for additional checks." "1 in 5,000 transfers leads to account closure after further review (less than 0.02%)." Technology is still limited by regulation, especially with recent MiCA regulation.

Super excited about @sovra_money and what @wehbix and the team are building. I told a Lebanese friend about @sovra_money and his instant reaction was “I’ve been wanting this” The passion and personal connection the problem will take @sovra_money far.

5 minutes of talking to @wehbix makes it clear how personal providing access to stable financial to Lebanon is.
In 2020, millions of Lebanese woke up to a painful realization. The money sitting in their bank account wasn't truly theirs anymore. Beyond a financial crisis, that moment became a mission for Ahmad Wehbi @wehbix 🚀 Build a world where access to financial services isn't determined by your passport. 🔐 Build products where people actually own their money. 🌍 Build infrastructure that works for everyone, not just those born in the "right" countries. In our latest episode, Ahmad shares how that journey led to the creation of @sovra_money, a self-custodial platform designed to make saving, spending, investing, and earning on digital assets as simple as using any modern financial app. But this conversation goes far beyond one company. We explore: 💰 Why "money" is really stored human effort. 🌎 Why financial exclusion is a global problem, not just a Lebanese one. 🤝 Why technology is beginning to replace institutions as the foundation of trust. ⏳ And why, ten years from now, we may look back and wonder why banking had to be this way, in the first place. 🎥 Watch the full episode, link below

Enterprise AM asked me where Sovra came from. One morning, standing outside my bank, refused access to money I own, I felt we deserved a little better. Sovra is what came out of that. Real ownership of our money, built for our region first. Link in comments

who’s building this?
The first neobank to do unsecured revolving credit is going to wipe the market. TradFi solves credit with trust: bureaus, income verification, legal recourse. These credit cards extend a limit today and can enforce repayment tomorrow because decades of infrastructure back the person, not the asset. Crypto never built that layer, so every onchain “credit” product solves trust with collateral instead. Overcollateralized lending (Aave, Morpho) means depositing more than you borrow, no underwriting, just liquidation math. Undercollateralized pools (Maple, Goldfinch) get closer to real credit, but it’s underwritten institutional lending through pool delegates, not a consumer product. The card-linked products (etherfi, Hyperbeat) are secured revolving credit: borrow against staked collateral, spend, repeat. They solved the revolving part, but the unsecured part isn’t quite there yet. Users don’t want to manage collateral ratios. They want to swipe and pay later, because that’s the muscle memory thirty years of credit cards built. Crypto’s entire trust model runs on the opposite premise: don’t trust, verify, collateralize. Solving unsecured revolving credit onchain means solving identity and enforceable recourse at scale. It also means solving a fundamental tension between traditional finance and decentralized finance. It’s one of the hardest problems to solve. What this also means though is it’s probably one of the most profitable problems to solve. Unsecured revolving credit for individuals.

Newly funded neobank projects I’m most excited about: @ground_onchain: API infrastructure for fintechs to embed onchain yield and asset management. @Daya_HQ: Neobank focused on the African market. @sovra_money: All-in-one crypto fintech for saving, spending, and earning paypercut.com: European fintech payment solution with a unified dashboard for billing, payouts, and multi-currency settlements. @didit: Unified API for KYC, KYB, AML, biometrics, transaction monitoring, and fraud prevention. What's missing?

A number in your account and actually being able to reach it are two different things. Our founder @wehbix learned that the hard way in 2019. It's the reason Sovra exists. EnterpriseAM told the story. Link in the first reply.
