It's Asian Hornet Week & on Jersey they find nests that cannot be treated with pesticides because they are over water. Residents in overlooking houses held dinner parties to watch the careful extraction of this nest high in a tree. #Asianhornetweek #asianhornet #bees #beekeeping

It's #Asianhornetweek and though we have not had any sightings of them yet we want to make sure you're still looking out for them. On Jersey a specialist audio team wanted to record the sound they make - the hornets did not like mics so close #bees #beekeeping #beekeeper

This stunning roadside verge was up until recently managed by a resident as a short mowed lawn. With encouragement he agreed to allow it to grow for the benefit of #pollinators & #wildflowers I think most will agree this has been a top result! #dontmow @PollinatorPlan

Earthworms are garden superheroes! They aerate the soil, improving its structure, drainage and fertility - which in turn benefits plants. To help earthworms thrive, avoid pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilisers.

Main amateur Beekeeping organisations in UK have joined together to warn government of a "severe and imminent" threat of importing a bee pest called Small Hive Beetle. They say not enough checks in Northern Ireland to ensure imports are disease free #bees bbka.org.uk/news/serious-ris…

First proper flying day the bees have had round here this year, should be OK for cleansing flights for a bit now.
More importantly days like this really help with winter blues. 😊
