Sincere condolences upon the passing of Wallace McRae, to all who knew him and admired him. It was my honor to document his reading of his great poem "Things of Intrinsic Worth" some years ago: vimeo.com/hpmoon/mcrae - his legend and influence is eternal.
Enjoyed my first visit to @lpwesternmuseum near the Alabama Hills where many Westerns have been shot, from the early heyday of cinema to Tarantino's "Django Unchained" - beneath the towering majesty of Mt. Whitney. Here's a short clip about that:

Yet another idiotic self-righteous take by formerly indie @Indiewire of the gigantic conglomerate @PenskeMedia who also shill privilege (disguised as diversity) @thr, @variety, @goldenglobes, etc. Can we all just ignore them please? See @mrRuimy's piece at worldofreel.com/blog/2024/6/…

Getting ready to launch OperationCowboy.com, on Christmas Eve (God willing). Hoping & praying that it launches "like a rocket," as my dear friend believed it would do. Watch for the launch, please. Here's the PR blurb describing what we do. God bless you!
This is a must-see film about faith, family, and creativity filmed at a farm in rural Spokane, Washington. It's a timely antidote to the artificiality and distraction of behemoth commercial film$ like Barbie and Oppenheimer. Thanks to @RooftopFilms for the magical NYC premiere.
“#DreaminWild ultimately became a story about family, faith and forgiveness for me.” - Writer/Director Bill Pohlad
From the director of Love & Mercy, #DreaminWild is only in theaters August 4.
Here's another film I made, with @CALEFAX Reed Quintet & @PENTATONEmusic, about love for a city, and the people who bring it creative life. It visualizes the song "New Amsterdam" written by @moondogscorner, the famous blind "Viking of Sixth Avenue." Enjoy! youtu.be/OTt8QFvfYPY
After Cannes, it can't be soon enough when this finally arrives stateside in October, the "Western that Scorsese always wanted to make"... buff.ly/3IruyGQ
I'm still slowly perfecting this @docofilm with its many moving pieces, but in the meantime, smaller projects have found their way, and here's my (@hpmoon) latest. A sunny Spring to you, friends.

"The Passion of Scrooge" showing on the Opera Philadelphia Channel is a Christmas treat, with blessings for everyone. operagene.com/new-blog/2022/… @OperaPhila
R.I.P., Don Edwards. It was such an honor to capture your performance of "Coyotes" at such an intimate, cinematic level never before seen. Am looking forward to putting it all together at last.

Nice to catch some live theatre in city-slickin' NoHo, "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance," presented by Onomatopoeia Theatre Company @GeneFTheatre. Posted notice = post-Baldwin world!
He sat for one of my favorite interviews ever. Can't wait to share his anecdotes and comedic genius someday soon. May @baxterblack forever rest in laughter and peace.
Thanks to Cowpokes International Film Festival @COWPOKESFF for screening "Song of the Open Road" today at 5pm in Electra, Texas. @hpmoon's short film, using footage that's part of this larger project, also streams freely at: youtu.be/ZhL_4Gkhlq0
Insightful interview with @domflemons last night, followed by filming his performance at the...wait, what? @TheRealNimoy Theatre @SymphonySpace! 🖖 Looking forward to seeing/hearing Dom in performance with @HedgesAndy tonight on day two of the residency: symphonyspace.org/dom-flemon…
