Federico Castelluccio (Furio in Sopranos) bought a painting at auction and had it restored for a total of $140,000, then figured out it was actually from an earlier century and worth about $10 million. In 2014, actor Federico Castelluccio—best known for his role as Furio Giunta on The Sopranos—made a discovery that could have been a storyline straight out of the show. Castelluccio, an accomplished painter and art collector himself, was browsing a Frankfurt gallery when he came across a canvas mislabeled as a later reproduction. Intrigued, he purchased the piece for a modest sum and later invested about $140,000 in its restoration. Once cleaned and properly studied, experts realized the painting wasn’t a reproduction at all—it was an authentic work from the Baroque period, dating back to the early 1600s. The subject, Saint Sebastian, was a popular theme among artists of that era, often depicted as a symbol of resilience and faith under persecution. The misattributed work turned out to be worth an estimated $10 million, making it one of the most remarkable art finds of recent years. Castelluccio’s sharp eye and background in fine art helped him spot what seasoned dealers had overlooked. Beyond his acting career, Castelluccio has long been immersed in the art world, and this discovery solidified his reputation as more than just a collector—he became part of a remarkable story where passion, knowledge, and luck intersected. © Reddit #archaeohistories

Although there's MANY great tracks from the year, I was finding it a challenge to find enough albums to populate a #1990AlbumsTop20 list. So here's the second of three: Jellyfish - Bellybutton youtube.com/playlist?list=OL… open.spotify.com/album/6AvUI…

Tommy Boy (1995) shouldn’t work on paper, but Chris Farley’s physical chaos and David Spade’s dry patience lock into something weirdly perfect. Every gag grows out of character, not noise, and that’s why it’s still endlessly watchable.
What's a "low-brow" movie you consider to be perfect

Years ago, I was working on a pilot. It was my 40th birthday and I had a couple of scenes with Catherine O’Hara. We had never met but she learned it was my birthday and it sparked her trademark misty-eyed grin. She immediately wanted to know my story. I between takes, I confessed my fears about turning 40 in Hollywood, an industry obsessed with youth. She sighed and shared her own fears of being obsolete and aging out... Of course, she never did. Her best days were still ahead of her and much of mine have been too. Fear can feel so real in the moment but, with time, can prove completely unfounded. That day I was fearful… In a way only another actor could understand. Catherine was kind enough to listen and offer comfort. I will keep that moment in my heart - under “Pure Grace”. ❤️
