The JA Health & Lifestyle Survey (JHLS) shows women's obesity has risen exponentially over two decades. 2/3 of J'can women are pre-obese or obese.
The data also shows women have much lower levels of physical activity than men.

BREAKING: The United States has added the Caribbean nations of Antigua & Barbuda, Cuba and Dominica to the list of countries whose passport holders are now required to post a visa bond of up to US$15,000 to apply to enter America. The new visa bond requirement will take effect on January 21, 2026. The US State Department says payment of the bond does not guarantee that a visa will be granted. However, the money will be refunded if the visa is denied or when a visa holder complies with the terms of the travel permit.

The new KFC restaurant in Morant Bay, St Thomas is now open.
Opening its doors to customers on Tuesday, the brand manager of Restaurant of Jamaica (ROJ), which owns and operates the local franchise, Andrei Roper, said the company was happy to open for business, even as they pick up the pieces from the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.
