Some more thoughts on Trump’s truly wild decision to import large quantities of third world beef. And if that doesn’t interest you, I give away the name of the best beef producer in America. dailywire.com/news/how-washi…

It's one of the miracles of Enlightenment. Go talk to my friend @whiteguyfieri -- he'll introduce you to the delights of foie. Say thanks to the goose, the farmer, the chef, & see about banishing all vegans to South Dakota, so they can learn manners in the Black Hills-
Geese look totally chill about it

I am voting against the foie gras ban because I want to discourage people from investing money in future DC ballot initiatives by making them think "even if we have a reasonable idea, we'll probably end up losing like those foie gras people." Take it up with the Council!

pretty comfortable being on a strict diet 1500 calories a day etc and I’m very happy eating anything I want whenever I want in the exact ways that I want. But this state of constant moderation that everyone tells me about with its smoothies and such is an unimaginable horror

It is my understanding that this is a deeply perverted and unhealthy relationship to food. But I can’t really help it.

“The chef behind haute-MAGA hangout Butterworth's and longtime Trump critic and humanitarian José Andrés make unlikely allies in the foie gras debate — and are among the few prominent D.C. chefs willing to speak out.”

This is crazy, the DC referendum bill on foie gras is actually written wrong, such that it would ban the serving of any fattened poultry liver product, not just products made with forced feeding.
Replying to @JHWeissmann
The bill does not only ban force-fed livers. It bans force-feeding of birds in the district and then separately bans any ‘fattened liver product’ which would includes products of birds ‘fattened through any method or practice.’ That’s literally any industrially raised chicken. xitter.cf/joshjacobsondc/status/…

Guys, this foie gras ban is so sloppily written that it would ban Jewish delis from selling chopped chicken liver. Absolutely vote no on this shit.

Advancing an issue on the DC ballot requires spending several hundred thousand $$ to hire a firm that qualifies it & frames a “yes” vote as good for everyone. This manipulates democracy, letting anyone with a national agenda & funding enter DC & pass nearly any issue. VOTE NO.
The fight over D.C.'s proposed foie gras ban is heating up ahead of the vote. Outside money. Duck mascots. A chef with Trump-world ties plotting a protest tasting menu — and possibly a legal battle Inside the battle over D.C.'s most divisive delicacy. axios.com/local/washington-d…

Voting yes on 86 is francophobic. My opponents refuse to acknowledge this. Initiative 86 is a deeply racist piece of legislation. We’re better than this DC.

Besides @whiteguyfieri, most DC chefs have been publicly quiet about the foie gras ban. @chefjoseandres says something I’ve been hearing behind closed doors. They worry it’s just another hurdle for restaurants when there are bigger issues at play (and diners can just go to VA/MD)
What backslash Jessica? 🧐😇So we are banning all meats? If Duck goes all goes next? …I’ve been through this in California…..just lets concentrate on things that matter…..cars with children are being shot by ICE, immigrants working in farms and restaurants being deported many with green cards and even citizens…so many other issues! Yes let’s bring the ducks now….one more issue for restaurants to handle!😅🕊️
