All of us at Marvel Studios are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from "X-Men" to "Logan" to "Avengers: Doomsday." He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.

playstation charged me for an mlb trial, refused to resolve it with me after multiple attempts and suspended my entire account when my credit card company sided with me. this is exactly why physical media matters. imagine having hundreds of games locked behind an account because you disputed one charge. you paid for those games, but sony still controls whether you can access them. that’s fucking ridiculous. i’ve never been happier to have sold my ps5, and sony can kiss my ass!
"...existing consumer protection laws..."
If they can do all this with the current laws, there definitely needs to be an improvement of said laws
The European Commission says it cannot stop Sony from ending physical PlayStation games.
In response to questions from a Member of the European Parliament, the Commission said companies are “free to offer games and services in the manner that they see fit,” as long as they follow existing consumer protection laws.
The Commission also said it has no legal basis to require companies to keep selling physical games or force them to support a specific business model.
Instead, it will continue monitoring the market and enforce EU consumer protection rules where necessary.

Digital purchases are licenses, not ownership. Sony can revoke access. This raises concerns about long-term ownership, game preservation, resale, lending, and reliance on servers/stores
