Finally going through photos from last months, here the one taken by my guest Dario de Cillis in Białowieża Forest in winter
Winter/spring 2027 tours when wolf sightings are very likely:
13–17 Jan - new date
17–21 Feb - 1 spot remaining
1–5 Apr - fully booked
9–13 Apr - new date
Common Cranes gathering at dusk at their roosting site in NE Poland. Looks spectacular & unique everytime I watch it.
Tomorrow direction -> Bieszczady Mts (SE Poland) for a couple of days. Hope to get some nice mammals there.
And amazing finish of the tour on Biebrza Marshes. 5 Elks at pre-sunrise search, two Nutcrackers, hundreds of Common Cranes, super late Red-backed Shrike male, males: Merlin and Hen Harrier & as a dessert - 3 Wolves seen for at least an hour.

Białowieża's Serengeti at dawn. A huge herd of about 50 Red Deer including a few roaring stags. Never seen such a thing elsewhere than here.
A succesful birding with @Heatherleabirds & @GormanGerard in Białowieża Forest. So far: 7 sp. of woodpeckers (incl. Grey-headed, Black & White-backed), Nutcracker + wonderful observation of Pine Marten, Bisons & Elks. The highlight was this confiding Pygmy Owl in a middle of day.
And the icing on the cake of spring's guiding this year.
Late May's encounter with Lynx in Białowieża Forest. The observation lasted at least 20 minutes!

Just finished Autumn Tour. Undoubted highlight - a pack of wolves howling amongst Red Deer rutting in the evening in Białowieża Forest...
Also Bisons, Wild Boar, Elk (heard only), Beavers & 6 sp. of woodpeckers, Pygmy Owl, LS & GS Eagle.

Rutting season in NE Poland is slowly coming to an end, but stags will probably still be active in the next few days.
While you are watching rutting Red Deers someone else is watching them too.
Yesterday evening in Białowieża Forest.
Finally was able to take off a trailcam (after 7 months) in a very remote area of Białowieża Forest - on the recording two apex predators, Grey Wolf (Canis lupus) & Eurasian Lynx (Lynx lynx).
Red Deer & Elk (Moose) rutting season.
The chasers and the chased.
All pictures made this morning in NE Poland.
It's time of the year when Common Cranes gather at roosting site in hundreds every night. They will do it until late October before heading south...
Recent drought and unproper timing of mowing makes Elk (Moose) watching difficult on Biebrza Marshes this summer/autumn.
To satisfy enquiries a new area is being explored during Elk Safari about 1 hour east from the origin spots. But what a place it is!
Have a look on the pics😊
A pair of wolves drinking water from nearly empty muddy puddles in Białowieża Forest in early August.
Large herbivores of Białowieża Forest at muddy wallow - Elk (Moose), European Bisons, Wild Boar & Red Deer.
You can also see how dry it could get this summer in Białowieża Forest. Now this place is again without water even after solid rains in mid August.
