My first visit to the capital of the North will be for the @McrArtFair, this November. I can't wait! Can't believe I haven't been before and am excited to discover the art scene in the UK's second city.
I have some comps tickets for my followers - get in touch.
Gallerists!
Planning your 2027 exhibitions?
Me too!
I am looking for galleries and dealers to collaborate with over next year...
In particular solo exhibitions in 2027...
...and art fairs.
If you are a dealer who works on commission, and likes what they see, get in touch.
Why do I make work inspired by paintings from the past?
I find the originals have an otherworldly quality.
I love the theatrical dress on earlier paintings, playing with their underlying geometry, and creating a culture clash between past and present.
3 years ago I picked up the keys...It has been a great joy to have this space and watch the world go by as I paint.
Thanks to every one who has supported the studio or let me know that it has touched them in some way. I am a lucky boy. X

Why all the birds?
Is is it the sense of spectacle?
These flying creatures are uncanny by their nature.
Some #birds are symbols of peace and unity...
...I often use them to represent people...
...birds as messengers bridging the natural world and Divine...
...birds as souls....
Why do i paint portals?
Is it the sense of transcendence?
The sublime?
Diffusion.
Childhood innocence.
The unknown.
Being transported some where else.
The ether.
The afterlife.
So what's with all the legs?
It started in covid when i was going over old material.
Trying to find some thing new...
Cropping adds an element of intrigue.
It can load an imags with potential.
It is as if the model is caught unawares.
I think of the legs as portraits.
