6 months ago, I had a dream of running RDR2 on an iPhone. I wasn't sure if it could be done, but I decided to try anyways, by building a general-purpose Windows PC games emulator for iOS. I am extremely happy to announce that this dream has come true!

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now running on an iPhone 18 Pro. No PC, no streaming, fully on-device. Translating DirectX 12 to Metal with custom runtime that leverages DXMT's airconv for SM5 shader conversion. This is an experimental build of Madeira with graphical glitches.

Not quite K3 based purely on benchmarks, but it's much smaller and WAYYYYY cheaper. Also it could still be better in practice in many domains. I'm excited to see what everyone thinks of it and try it myself!
