Brandon Scherff
• 10 years (7 w/Redskins-Football Team & 3 w/Jaguars)
• 144 career starts (140 regular season) at RG
• 1st team All-Pro in 2020
• 5x Pro Bowler
• 2015 1st round pick (5th overall)
• 2014 Unanimous All-American
• 2014 Outland Trophy Winner
• Set the Iowa-school record in hang clean at 433 pounds 3x (later broken by Tristan Wirfs)
Scherff was an incredibly explosive, twitched-up guard whose peak rivaled any guard in the last decade. He was an elite puller and special run blocker with a potent jump set that will be studied for many years to come. Scherff was also a rookie in 2015 which is exactly when I started studying OL film full-time so his career was extra special and impactful on the way I view the position.

.@colts @nyjets @MattGoncalves77 makes his 2nd NFL start and pitches a shutout. And no penalties. Also starting a rookie center in @TanorBortolini Coaching matters. Some teams can never build an offensive line. @BigQ56 #BaldysBreakdowns

One of the toughest situations a guard can find themselves in: isolated against a loose 3T sub-package rusher like Key (who has a history of effectively rushing inside).
Fries handles it with patience before using a 'circle punch' technique to work around Key's attempted swipe, keeping his head out of the block + rusher at his fingertips 🤌🤌🤌
