DJ Giddens didn't start a single game in high school until his junior year ended, and only because the guy ahead of him got hurt.
He finished with zero stars on every recruiting site. Zero scholarship offers after that junior season. The plan was Butler Community College, nothing more.
Then Kansas State called. It was the only Division I offer he ever got.
He turned it into three seasons and over 3,700 total yards for the Wildcats, then got picked by the Colts in the fifth round of last year's draft.
His rookie season was mostly quiet. 26 carries all year, buried behind Jonathan Taylor on the depth chart.
Today, in the Colts' final preseason game, he broke a 6-yard run into the end zone for the first touchdown of his NFL career.
His teammates didn't stay on the sideline for it.
Everyone in that building knew exactly what they were watching. Not just a touchdown. A kid who had one single offer to play college football, on a roster fighting for jobs before final cuts, finally getting his moment.
