OpenAI is eating their own fruit.
Codex has been incredibly laggy and GPT Pro has been very buggy lately.
Been making tons of improvements, weapons, characters, maps, handling and experiences, and look at the changes...

Had this game in my mind since i was a kid, built a quick prototype with Opus 5.5 and Grok 4.7 and its using @threejs
We live in an incredible time.
You will never be able to afford a computer since it takes up a big room and requires professionals to operate.

Never say never.

Someone check if Peter Thiel is ok
The guy that owns the 140 characters app just launched a flying car

They really just got on stage and said this newly designed 4000+ pound car can do flips and go half the speed of sound (380+mph) and will ship in 2028. This is a prank, right?
Bruhhhhhh this is crazy and I love it
ok... uh so I'm making a game... it's like if GTA & Apple Maps v1 had a baby
And that baby was a custom built engine that streams in OpenMapTiles (plus some other public domain mapping data) to render the entire earth as a playable open world game
Engine is all C++ with Metal (and Vulcan) renderer - which means this thing runs on ALL Apple platforms... yes even that one (ok not the watch... yet)
Right now it's just a sandbox world. No "game" - just layers and layers of systems. Earth scale procedural weather systems (rain, storms, clouds, wind, KpI, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc) which means you can see them coming from the distance and travel across the landscape in a timelapse. And every building has a procedurally generated interior.
There's also tons of vehicles, skateboarding (with skateparks), snowboarding (with ski resorts & lifts)
Also a photography mode with all sorts of fun goodies
The whole thing is a bit mad. Work's been insane right now and I wind down before bed by going through all of the work Claude has done that day, playtesting, writing up new project plans, and then kicking off the next day's projects across my 3 Macs in my house wirring on this all day with Opus 5.5 (maybe save that explainer for another crazy person Twitter screed)
Anyway, curious what you think. Now I can post my little updates here instead of blowing up all my group chats with the weird ideas I'm trying next.

Counter argument: Not only is taste subjective, it's a moving target. As soon as [tasteful thing] becomes easily replicable, it stops being tasteful.
Taste is a status game with a strong defensibility mechanism. That's why the term is so fuzzy and ill-defined. Vagueness is the whole point. It's meant to be hard to copy.
Remember the days when I had to manually tweak parameters to compensate the difference of motors and it took days. FRC is going to be more insane and fun.
Robots going ballistic! 🎾
Alright, it's a bad joke...
High school students built an autonomous ball-collecting robot.
A group of high school students built a robot that picks up balls and shoots them into a bin while moving without stopping.
It combines mechanical design, sensors, and software making constant adjustments in real time while the robot is driving.
When teenagers can build systems this sophisticated, the talent pipeline for the robotics industry is accelerating... and it needs to!
The space is booming...
