Here’s how I almost lost everything in my Phantom wallet to hackers—and how you can avoid it too. There are many ways hackers try to get into users’ wallets, but one of the most effective (and sneaky) methods is by sending duplicate tokens. Yesterday, I bought $KITTY at around 140k and made some profits. After selling, I should have just rested like Jesus on the 7th day—but no. I jumped into the next beta play, $PUPPY, and gave back some of my gains. A few minutes later, I checked my Phantom wallet and saw about the same amount I put into $PUPPY... but showing in $KITTY. Now I had two tokens in my wallet, both with the $KITTY ticker. And let me tell you, the brain is conniving. I started convincing myself maybe I did buy $KITTY by mistake instead of $PUPPY. But then I thought—if that were true, the tokens should’ve been merged, not separate. That triggered my suspicion. So before doing anything, I clicked on the token and scrolled down.
