Fun Fire Fact Friday! Have you ever thought to yourself, "How loud is a fire truck horn?"
Approximately 150 decibels. ๐
Due to noise levels inside the cab, regulations no longer permit these warning devices to be mounted on the roof of the chassis. Another iconic sound on a fire truck is the Q-Siren. It's not a fire truck unless it's got a Q-Siren.
Air horns are famous for their loud, goose-like sounds, which reach approximately 150 decibels. Air horns are traditionally mounted on the chassis hood or in or behind the bumper.
Safety tip for the day! Remember that plugging in high-power-consuming appliances through an extension cord or through a surge protector is not a safe practice. It won't happen often, but accidents do happen where the cord or outlet can overheat and spark,
which can cause a fire whether you are present or not. Examples include: Fridge Space Heater Electric blanket Air Fryer Dryer Dishwasher Coffee Maker Hot Tub Window Air Conditioner Any type of pump These items should ALWAYS be plugged in directly to an outlet.
Join us this Saturday at the Crystal Fall Festival at Becker Park! We will be there with the Tower for the grand finale pumpkin drop! ๐๐
Fun Fire Fact Friday! Did you know that there are different classes of fire? You might have seen this if you have a fire extinguisher.
They will put out any fires involving ordinary combustibles, flammable liquids, and live electrical equipment. Remember to stand just far enough away to not get burned by the fire and use the P.A.S.S. acronym.
