I was a Foeren apologist and fan up until 2-3 years ago. He did good things for the program. It was just clear that his style wasn’t working in the NIL era. Plus he was too slow to make staff changes when they clearly were underperforming
UNC: cheating since 1895. Nothing ever changes at the chapel hill plantation
On this day in North Carolina history October 26, 1895.
North Carolina helped change football forever, and it happened because a desperate player broke the rules.
UNC was playing Georgia in Atlanta when fullback Joel Whitaker faced a Georgia rush that threatened to block his punt. Instead of kicking the ball, he threw it forward to teammate George Stephens.
Stephens caught it and ran 70 yards for a touchdown.
Georgia's coach, legendary Pop Warner, protested. The forward pass was illegal, but the referee never saw the throw. The touchdown stood, and UNC won 6 to 0.
The forward pass wouldn't become legal until 1906.
Think about that the next time you watch a quarterback throw a touchdown. A play that helped shape modern football started with a desperate decision by a Tar Heel.
North Carolina history is full of stories like this one. 🏈

Getting worked in the paint is something we’re likely to see all year

The shooter in the Bend, Oregon elementary school shooting is identified as John C Griffin.
The gun used was purchased by his mother, Shauntai May Nickerson for his birthday next month. Griffin had previously been enrolled in specialized program at the school for students experiencing intensive behavioral and social skills challenges…and his mother bought him a double-barrel pump action shotgun for his birthday.
She needs to be in prison.

Any preseason list or ranking is meaningless. Nobody remembers and nobody cares. What matters are the lists, awards, wins, and rankings at the end of the season. Use it as motivation if you must but don’t play victim for being left off a list before any games are played
It’s the other team’s job to play defense and catch kickoffs - onside kick or not. He should be thanked for teaching them that life is not always fair and that there are no participation trophies. Get over it, get better, and move on
From @TheAthletic: A high school football coach in Oregon was fired for running up the score and going for multiple onside kicks in a 63-0 victory against a severely undermanned opponent. The game was called at halftime. nyti.ms/4jmYCXG

his roster construction is not great, but his bigger problems are poor coaching hires, clock management and in-game decisions. A better roster ain't going to fix his problems. He's a development guy, and there's no time for that in the NIL era

Until someone builds some enforceable guardrails, either Voldemort or some other slimy fuck will do it
That’s nothing. NC state and Duke are only 24 miles apart and didn’t play each other from 2014-2019. And they’re in the same conference and have a rivalry dating to 1924. Make it make sense

A PSA: do NOT download the White House app. It is doing something very weird with the sandbox permissions you give it. Which I’m not sure yet, but is likely against every service term and developer agreement on earth. I downloaded it so you don’t have to onto an air gapped old iPad. It is phoning home, asking for way too much personal data, and attempting to bypass location services permissions. Aside from the propaganda, it’s a security nightmare.

Nah they had pretty much stopped our run game and had all 3 TOs. No way we were going to run the clock out. Poor execution on the sidelines and the field
