The reason why i love growth role so much is because i can correlate my thinking like a hedge fund manager Both understanding can being simplify into an execution with different method for same objective -> growth of revenue/fund So much room to understand your playground.

Been digging deeper into @medusajs lately. Pretty interesting how we can build our own commerce engine with custom rules and logic, exactly how we want it. Hopefully a big ecommerce project comes along soon so we can put this stack to work. But for now @Shopify still on fire

In 1975, Steve Jobs told Steve Wozniak that Atari had paid them $700 for a game they built together. He handed Woz a check for $350. Atari had actually paid Jobs about $5,000. In the video below, Woz says: "Who cares about money? Well, you do care about friendship and honesty." Jobs was working the night shift at Atari. The company wanted a new arcade game called Breakout, built with as few chips as possible. Jobs couldn't build it. Woz could. He already had a full-time job at Hewlett-Packard, and Jobs said they had four days. Woz went four days with no sleep. Both of them came down with mono. Woz did it in 45 chips. Atari's own engineers were using 150 or more. He took his $350 and was happy with it. Jobs took the rest and went up to Oregon to buy into a farm. About ten years later, Woz read the real number in a book about Atari. By then the two of them had built Apple, and Woz was a multimillionaire. If Jobs had just told him he needed the money, Woz says, "I would say take it all." It wasn't the last time. Before Apple went public in 1980, Jobs refused to give stock options to Daniel Kottke, his friend since college, who had helped build the first Apple computers. Woz did the opposite. He sold his own shares cheaply to Kottke and other early employees who had been left out. One friend kept almost all of a $5,000 bonus. The other gave away millions. Was Jobs a genius who knew what business takes, or just a bad friend?

Sepang 🇲🇾 just proved yet again that every F1 is and was right, we never asked for an increase in street races that are shit, Miami and Madrid are the worst tracks in decades, it shows that old school legendary tracks give everyone the thrill they want, it also proved form is temporary class is permanent with Vintage Verstappen, Hammertime Hamilton and El Plan Alonso all being the best drivers as you’d expect, it also gave us more reason to ditch these embarrassing ai engines that are pathetic and actually cringe for the sport. Bring back screaming V8’s and bring back these old school tracks that create epic and memorable races, we will be taking about how good this race was for years, we forgot about the Madring before the checkered flag. #MalaysianGrandPrix 🏁

The most dangerous moment is right after you win. You did it. You made the money. You quit your job. You built the physique. You got the girl. Now what? Most people let themselves decline into misery because their driving force has now vanished. You need another mountain to climb. You need to understand that it is a gift, not a curse, to always be in the pursuit of your potential - the constant balance of challenge and skill is what makes life meaningful. There is no final top of the mountain.

Underrated life advice: Just stay in the game. The best things in life are a result of compounding. But you can’t compound if you let yourself get taken out of the game. Whatever storm life throws your way, just roll with it. Adapt. Survive and advance. Always stay in the game.

Crazy to think that in 2026 we've had: • Anthropic's head of safeguards quit, warning "the world is in peril" (Feb) • OpenAI dissolved its own mission alignment team (Feb) • Unrestricted AI usage for the Pentagon (causing several researchers to quit) • Several AI models escaping sandbox testing (Since ~Q2) • 1,100+ frontier-lab employees signing a letter begging the government to pace AI development (Jul-Aug) And today yet another top researcher saying this.
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Most people fail not because they make the wrong move, but because they never make the first one. Go try the idea. Fall flat on your face if you have to. The cost of inaction is almost always higher than the cost of a failed attempt.

Everyone is becoming a part-time engineer and marketer
One of our big findings in our study at Procter and Gamble was that AI blurred the lines between jobs. Now OpenAI has a similar finding. Organizational boundaries are becoming porous, the walls thinning. Companies are going to need to think about division of labor in a new way.

Comparing Malaysia and Singapore purely by GDP per capita is too simplistic. Malaysia has almost 6x the population, a much larger landmass, and a more complex economy. We are not just driven by finance or trade, but also tourism, commodities, halal economy, manufacturing, agriculture, and now tech. People may call us “third-world”, but Malaysians are highly digital-native. QR payments, parking apps, e-wallets, and everyday digital adoption are already part of our daily life. Malaysia also holds a strong global position in Islamic finance, and more global companies are now choosing to build, manufacture, and collaborate here. Yes, our policies can be inconsistent. But Malaysia is still moving forward as a sovereign country with its own principles, identity, and ambition. One of it we didnt accept Israel Zionism to intercept into our country althought with dual-passport We didn't substract any effort of innovation, but we dont compromise with principles Melaka was once a major global trading hub. That history matters. We are not trying to be Singapore. Malaysia’s opportunity is bigger and different. Yet, Singapore people still comes to Johor to enjoy our Petrol and currency arbitrage for a long time 😂 With the right execution, Malaysia can build its own version of Silicon Valley — on our own terms.
Everyone talking about @balajis and Network School in Malaysia (near Singapore). I could say a 100 things to explain it all to you, or I could just drop you one chart.

Quite interesting to learn that the "malay" identity is constitutionally defined to be synonymous (necessarily inclusive of) with the muslim one, as stated by the national museum of malaysia.
