The downside to having an illiquid portfolio is that you underperform on down days because all of your positions are shitcos that everyone is desperate to sell for any reason

Fun fact @macrocephalopod taught me a while back: Tether ($USDT) take t+1 and charges 10bps to convert tether back into cash. On the assumption this trade is fairly safe, tether gives you a good barometer of how expensive arbitrage capital is during moments of stress.

The basic math is that every bp below .999 represents a ~3.5% return to the arbitrageur. At the current price (.9978), the implied opportunity cost of capital for HFTs is nearly 44%

There are a lot of problems with how the Trump accounts are currently set up but it does have a lot of potential in terms of a government administered process for charitable donations in the form of direct cash transfers

Imagine if the restrictions for withdrawals were reduced to ~ "any circumstance where an existing tax-deferred vehicle exists": 401ks, 529s, HSAs, transportation accounts, etc etc. Ability to withdraw prior to 18 seems necessary IMO. But interesting possibilities!

$TSSI, whose revenue is sensitive to data center capex, just announced that they signed onto a 7-year warehouse lease for 4x their current footprint, right as the AI capex story became wobbly 👀

Last bit to add to this, with Capital Cycle dynamics in mind. If a company: -in a quasi-fad industry, -with low-ish barriers to entry, -and giant looming competitors leases a brand new 324k sqft manufacturing facility, that is a reason to run away, not buy more! $SOWG

FWIW market today feels a lot more orderly than eg April 2025. I realize that’s not saying much but 🤷‍♂️

+22.5% in Q3, +46% ytd. VASO drove most/all of it. Still haven't sold shares there. Sold PDEX and CTZ.V added to VPRB Initiated in DSWL and the Series A
Late on this, promise I'm not trying to hide from bad performance: -0.35% in Q2, up 19.5% in H1. Not a great quarter, especially frustrating because the market ripped while I sat in place. Only move to note was trimming PDEX in the mid-high 60s for a new position, below

Solid and reasonable WR2 money for a solid WR2. Great signing for the Pats. I know it's not nearly as sexy as Pierce or Brown but Doubs is a well-rounded player who will immediately bring more than Diggs.
