Replying to @mezzanine_fi
@mezzanine_fi dropped their pivot lately and yeah, I've got thoughts🏛️
TLDR: this thing used to be pitched as a three-tranche stablecoin.
I wrote the whole breakdown of the original tech - worth a read first. The pivot isn't really a mechanics change. It's a positioning.
- Look, I still think the initial mezz stablecoin concept is great. I wrote about it, meant every word of it. The problem was never the mechanics - it's that "yield-bearing stablecoin" is really just DeFi fund with better marketing, and that framing landed Mezzanine in a stablecoin narrative that was already crowded with first-movers. It boxed the whole thing into a narrower use case than it deserved.
So now they're not trying to be a yield source anymore. They're to be the infra other yield sources get built on top of. Morpho but for vaults? Tranched strategies marketplace? Let's see how it plays.
- A three-tranche vault is replicated into vault infrastructure - basically a swiss army knife for operators(curators) instead of a single product, so they can configure the setup precisely per strategy.
The tranche math itself didn't move:
→ Senior - lower risk, lower yield share
→ Junior - first-loss, higher yield share
→ Mezzanine - sits in between, now optional per vault
Loss still eats Junior first, then Mezzanine if it's there, Senior last. Waterfall of risks and yields as before, now more flexible.
Team expects two strats at launch, and 2-3 new ones/month. Think the original Mezz vault from the team ends up among the first ones live ak flagship.
I've had my stables ready to bet on Mezz since always, so call me biased (I'm). But now it's not "that's it" anymore. It's just the beginning.

1/ Compound's Treasury Management Committee has recommended putting up to $12M of the DAO's USDC into a dedicated, noncustodial vault on Ethereum, curated by @SteakhouseFi, one of the largest onchain curators.
The vault would be the treasury's primary sleeve, alongside the separately proposed RWA sleeve.

Think about how fast the Overton window shifted:
Donald Trump name-dropped @HyperliquidX at the White House crypto summit, stating regulators are working to bring it to the US compliantly.
We went from DeFi builders hiding behind pseudonyms to the President discussing on-chain order books and perpetual DEXs on a White House mic. Institutional inflows were stage one. Sovereign recognition of DeFi infrastructure is stage two.
If you’re still fading high-throughput on-chain finance, you’re looking at the wrong cycle.

How to choose the right engineering partner? Key factors:
1. The Quality of Questions
Elite engineers ask highly specific questions focused entirely on your business logic, use cases, and tokenomics.
2. Proposing Solutions, Not Problems
A mature, senior-level team says: "We hit a blocker. Here are a few ways to solve it and the trade-offs for each. Let's discuss and pick the best one."
3. Deep Ecosystem Knowledge
For example, if an agency claims to build top-tier lending protocols, they must understand the role of risk providers. Developers need to know key market players (like Gauntlet, Steakhouse, Chaos Labs, Redstone) and how their analytics dictate market parameters.
4. Full Product Lifecycle Understanding
A solid agency understands what happens outside the IDE. They account for security audits, integration with risk providers before launch, and the proper setup of on-chain governance and admin functions.
5. High Agency & Proactivity
Elite teams care about your overall success, not just their specific tasks. If they see the client about to make a bad architectural decision in the work chat, even if it’s outside their direct scope, they won't stay silent.
What were the deciding factors when you hired the software agency? Let me know

$50k in debt, $5k in my pocket, and a move to NYC. That was the starting point.
Today, half of our agency pipeline comes directly from networking, and the other half from client referrals. Here is our simple playbook for sustainable growth:
1⃣ Expand your network continuously. Show up, deliver value, and let people clearly understand that you're a professional.
2⃣ Leverage "borrowed trust." When clients love your work, they refer you. Referrals convert so well because you start with the trust already built by the person who recommended you.
To land those first clients, you have to hustle hard. But once you build momentum, reputation does the heavy lifting.
Is your referral pipeline full? What tips can you share for growth?

Dev in Ukraine → CEO/Sales in US.
Nobody teaches you that transition. You just figure it out - or you don't.
The hardest part wasn't learning sales. It was unlearning the developer mindset that everything needs to be perfect before you ship it. In sales, you ship yourself. Every call, every message, every intro.
Now I'm building the sales function at Woof, and honestly, it's the most challenging thing I've done. More than any protocol we've shipped.
